Many conservatives have argued for a 3rd party but i always believed a third party was an impossibility for success and instead promoted the idea of someone somehow hijacking the apparatus of the GOP, but not knowing who or how that could happen ... now we know ...

He won’t tell us in advance WHAT HIS vote will be.

I can’t seem to find it right now, but in another statement, Romney was even more accommodating.

He said that he will [paraphrasing] “support whatever process and timetable the President and Senate Leadership settle on”.

To me, it sounded like he is perfectly fine with scheduling the confirmation before the election.

It must be tough; being a Mormon.   Having to face Scripture that state two oppossing ideas and somehow managing to believe BOTH of them!  It's no WONDER that Utah leads in Prozac usage!

The most probable “compromise” will be a vote out of Judiciary with the floor vote in late November or early December.

If, as seems inevitable, the GOP loses the Senate, the nominee will not be confirmed. McConnell will have kept his pledge of a floor vote, Romney, Sasse, etc can switch for “fairness” because “the people have spoken” and vote “no”.

I hope I’m wrong, but you never lose if you bet on the GOP slithering away from a win to their comfy position as losers.
