Last night was the first presidential candidates debate of the 2020 campaign season.

The immediate takeaways were that: ** Trump was taking on two politicians ** Chris Wallace interrupted President Trump 76 times to just 15 times for Joe Biden ** Joe Biden couldn’t answer a question ** Joe Biden’s name-calling was disgusting and inappropriate ** Joe Biden made 33 false or misleading statements ** Democrats have to lie to the public about their policies and plans because they are so unpopular and destructive

Democrats left the debate thoroughly defeated. They know they lost.

How do we know that? Because top Democrats are now all calling for Joe Biden to cancel any future debates.

I guess the rationale might be that they believe Biden is ahead, and the debate produced enough sound bites against Trump that the DEMs and the media can twist to their advantage.

All I know is we had a forum full of Freepers who were cocksure that either (a) Biden would drop out of the debate, (b) Biden would fall on his face sometime during the debate, or (c) produce a whopping list of gaffs the media would have no choice but to report. None of this happened, although some might argue (c), but good luck getting that to the voters trying to decide whether they'll vote or not.

I don’t blame them. They were looking for a high school debate. Problem is - in a high school debate, the moderator is generally neutral. And infractions are penalized - on both sides. Biden was not only not penalized - he was aided by Wallace. To get his message out, Trump had to talk over both Wallace and Biden. So he did. The mauling Biden received obviously had the liberal commentariat aghast. Which is about as generous an endorsement of Trump’s tactics as anyone could have wished for.

Wallace was out of place demanding an answer from POTUS that was from a faux report, exploded by the media and talking heads..Wallace also was asking President Trump to agree that the riots were due to White Supremacists NOT antifa or BLM...."WALLACE: “Are you willing tonight to condemn white supremacists and militia groups…”

TRUMP: “Sure…”

WALLACE: “And to say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence in a number of these cities as we saw in Kenosha, and as we’ve seen in Portland”

Wallace should be fired ASAP for incorrectly blaming the riots on the far right...not BLM or antifa, the Soros thugs who were being supplied with bricks, bats, signs etc...Wallace has been knowingly giving false reports - that surely is a crime. Wallace needs to go.
