Coronavirus tests in New York City are coming back positive at the highest rate since the first wave of the pandemic receded in June, Big Apple officials revealed Wednesday as they again sounded the alarm about a COVID-19 second wave.
“This is our LAST chance to stop a second wave,” tweeted Mayor Bill de Blasio. “We can do it, but we have to act NOW.”
Figures from the city Health Department show that the average positivity rate for coronavirus tests taken over the last seven days has climbed to 2.52 percent — the highest rate since the Big Apple recorded a 2.61 percent positivity rate on June 9.

And the hospitals … are they over-crowded?
I suspect not.
NYS is counting repeat positives of the same patient as new positives.
That might be goosing the stats quite a bit.
The state is also not coming clean about which Ct threshold/s it’s using, and that number or numbers could be inflating the stats as well.
How many people are sick? How many in hospitals? How many deaths?
Anymore hospital utilization rates are meant to run high.
Empty beds lose money.
What we need to know are things like ICU utilization rates and are positive patients in for or with WuFlu.
The media is ramping up CV panic again to distract from massive evidence of election fraud being disclosed.
as long as Trmp is still president, the left will claim cases are ‘surging to record levels’, whether that be for 90 more days, or 4 more years- and if another republican wins in 2024, they will still be claiming cases are surging- this is the pandemic that an only be cured by a liberal in the white ouse in their minds-
IMHO The ONLY testing that should ever have been done was for people with actual symptoms at their doctors office.

So people are positive. That means tests. That means almost all of them will be fine in a few days.
Pathetic.
I wonder if the surge in the positivity rate is due to the “peaceful protests” or from people finally getting to attend church. My guess it is from the the former.
My wife and I were in contact with a person on last Wednesday that tested positive on Thursday. My wife and myself got a PCR test on Friday and got the results Monday. I'm postitive she's not (not sure how that can be unless she already had the bat flu). My daughter comes down with the very same symptoms I'm having - no fever, headcold - she takes a rapid test - she's negative. Two of my daughters are going for the PCR test later today.
What I am finding out with all of this BS that no one seems to know what the hell they are talking about and that some tests are better than others and then its 10 days vs 14 day quarantine and some doctors say "yea, head cold sounds like COVID" but others state that you get a fever chills and other more severe symptoms and the like.
I get it affects everyone differently but the BS being put out there over this is incredible.

I told my spouse this morning that they are ramping up COVID-19 cases and hospitals being overwhelmed because they’re scared that Trump is gonna prevail. Then they can beat him over the head with covid lies again.
Everybody knows that the way to defeat a virus is by testing for it. No virus can withstand the force of testing.
what the masks didn’t make it go away? the shutdowns didn’t make it go away?

My COVID? Had hangovers that were worse, and lasted longer. The Chinese Communists sent a chickenshit virus over here.
That’s why the cycle threshold number is important.
And why there’s no transparency on which number or numbers is/are being used.
Any thoughts from anyone re what Pres. Trump could do, should do, or WILL do on this particular issue after the election is resolved and he’s re-inaugurated?
What I’d personally LIKE to see is an announcement re “It’s over. Numbers were faked. No more lockdowns. No more mask mandates. Life will go back to normal, effective immediately”.
Of course I realize that’s an unlikely scenario, but would still value fellow Freepers’ input.
