Why does the media continuously telegraph moves to the enemy?

Two days ago, a day which will not be forgotten by any American, terrorist forces carried out acts of war against at least 3 of well known national landmarks.

While our prayers and help should be continuously be going out for the repose of the souls of those heroes who lost their lives through no fault of their own, those who chose to fight back and lost their lives in the process, and our help go out to help the survivors of this unprecidented act of terrorism, we should be asking ourselves extremely serious questions.

Why is the organized media doing their level best to telegraph each move that the United States might make against said terrorists, 24/7, ad infinitum The header of this page says it better than I could even concieve of saying, to wit:

LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS

If we are going to take action against the terrorist leader and the governments harboring said terrorist leader, then let us go boldly forward, but lets not tell these people what is going on ahead of time, 24/7 by the shrill voices of those who have shown in the past to be unabashed Socialist sympathizers.

While the American Public has a right to know what is going on, they do not have a need to know about what the government is planning against the terrorist forces who promulgated this cowardly attack.

We have just been informed that the Islamabad/Pakistan government, presumably including both the Taliban and the terrorist leader, suspected to be Osana Bin Laden, are in hiding.

This is no suprise. We have had every perky talking head spewing disinformation 24/7. We also seem to have a disturbing undercurrent of what the media calls a "consensus" wanting to further destruct the Constitution and the Posse Comitatus Act by assigning military personnel to be sky martials, regardless if this violates the use of miliary personal as law inforcement.

I beseech all FReepers to contact their elected officials, express their outrage over the cowardly act of terrorism, but make it perfectly clear to those officials that we, as a group, will not tolerate more chinks in the Constitution and the violation of the Posse Comitatus Act While additional security is certainly desirable, we cannot, and will not tolerate escalation of affronts directed against our Constitutional Rights.

I do not think it is too speculative to extrapolate that the "united front" supposedly shown by the Legislative branch will be used to ram unconstitutional laws down the throat of law abiding citizenry, especially, laws that will seriously restrict assembly, the RKBA, and other laws greatly increasing powers of covert surveillance.

We as citizens cannot allow this to happen. My suggestion: Write, fax, email, phone your elective representatives today. Tell them that you condemn the actions which culminated in the tragedy of 11 Sept 2000, but in no way do you support more of a slippery slide into totalitarianism, a slide which I am sure that many of the Legislative branch have been waiting to put into effect since the OKC Murrah building blast. Party affiliation does not matter here. Our Representatives and Senators need to know this and quickly.

Americans seem to be quickly buying into the "give up some freedom for security" mindset. If there is one thing we have discussed on this forum for years is the possibility of just such an occurrence.

In closing, I have but three requests for all FReepers. (1.) Pray for those who have given their lives. (2.) Call your elected representatives and urge immediate, definitive action to send a message that this Sovereign Republic will never cave in to cowardly terroristic acts of wa. (3.) Call all of your local media outlets, and the national ones also, and express your displeasure with the continual security leaks and the telegraphing of possible moves to the hostile forces who would destroy our way of government.

May God grant his blessings to us all during this time of national upheaval, Keep the Faith for Freedom, and act quickly and decisively without letting the Socialist/Liberal media telegraph our moves in advance.

GOD BLESS THIS HONORABLE REPUBLIC!

Greg

That's a great description of a business enterprise that is so tied up in knots that it looks insurmountable.

Perhaps we need to unravel it anyway. We can invoke the clause from Bush's proclamation that we will treat anyone that harbors these terrorists just as we would treat the terrorists. The Saudi Royals need to come on board with that notion and help rather than hinder. Otherwise they are providing safe harbor by allowing these assets to be useable. They should not be involved even for legitimate purposes.

The same should hold for the Bin Laden family.

Bin Laden may not need the money, but from your description, he sure tries to preserve it. It is obvious that he would be hurt if his money was targeted.

If we don't enforce the Bush proclamation broadly, then we are allowing an independent organization to operate like a rougue nation, with all of the equivalent power and assets.

Then their is the Soviet solution to a problem like this, which involves mailing certain body parts of his brothers' to him in a sack.

Because if they continuously broadcast the enemy's movements to us, they would be promptly shot. Guttless cowards.

The only people who hate the United States more than these terrorists is our own media. Only two days after these attacks and they are already attacking Bush. Not only that the Dems. are already starting to stimie our efforts to retalliate.
