One question, How could they possibly know already, and actually right after the crash, that it was not a terrorist attack?
Will the NTSB answer that question?

ABC had an eyewitness on the air..very detailed...she was on for 5 minutes talking to Jennings..she said her and her husband saw the whole thing.... they were looking towards the airport and watched the plane rise...was watching the plane and she saw a flash were the wing meets the fusilage. Everything was ok before that there was no smoke or anything before the flash. Then she said the plane broke into serveral peices and spun nose first down

Once again, people are confusing "no evidence of (bleah bleah bleah)" with "no."

No one in government has said that it wasn't a terrorist attack. They've said there's no evidence it was a terrorist attack. No on in government has said Al Quaeda didn't send the anthrax. They've said there's no evidence Al Quaeda sent the anthrax.

There's a HUGE difference.

People need to master these concepts like sentences, words, what they mean, etc.

Good question, they said that 'all initial info suggests an accident'......News Conference was very brief...Not sure it warranted an entire thread...15 people injured on the ground in Rockway Queens....No survivors expected from the plane.

I hope the powers that be have all the mechanics who worked on that plane somewhere they can keep an eye on them. Especially if their name is Habib.

Tommy Thompson (new director of NTSB): "We do know that the pilot drank from a stream in North Carolina last week."..

Well, Tommy did originally want to be Secy. of Transportation. (IS NTSB under that dept?)

Do New Yorkers have the equivalent of the redneck who isn't overburdened with brains telling the local TV news about the tornado going through the trailer park and that he "seen the whole thing"?

The pilot didn't report problem? Truly weird and suspicious. One would think that he would have called in immediately with report of explosion. What would have kept him from doing so?

Megadata Announces PASSUR Flight Track Replay And Analysis of American Airlines Flight 587

13:32 ET
PR Newswire
(Copyright (c) 2001, PR Newswire)

GREENWICH, Conn., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Megadata's PASSUR flight tracking system has recorded the flight track and data of American Airlines flight 587, departing from JFK International Airport on Monday, November 12, 2001.

Our condolences go out to the families and all of those affected by this tragic event.

The replay and flight track reconstruction of flight 587 have been provided to American Airlines, FAA, NTSB and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

As in past aviation incidents and accidents such as September 11, 2001, TWA 800, EgyptAir 990, Alaska Air 261 and numerous other incidents, Megadata will release any data we have about these incidents first to aviation and law enforcement authorities, to our respective airline and airport customers, and then the media, as appropriate.

Megadata's PASSUR system, which tracks aircraft with a 4.6 second update rate, records all flight activity that is received and processed and is available for immediate replay and analysis. Information derived from the system includes exact flight position, runway used, speed, altitude, type of aircraft, and all other flight activity in the area. The PASSUR system is based on an independent network of passive radar installations.

PASSUR -- Passive Secondary Surveillance Radar -- works through an antenna system using a dual frequency receiver to passively monitor interrogations from the airport surveillance radar (ASR) and the response from the aircraft transponder. Data acquired by the PASSUR unit is then processed through the Megadata proprietary software, which integrates other data sources as well, to create onscreen graphics, text and tools. PASSUR provides graphical and textual information on flights within a 150-mile radius of the terminal all the way to touch down -- updating every 4.6 seconds.

PASSUR provides independent and accurate arrival data, and decision-support tools, to 7 major airlines and over 23 airports.

For additional information, contact Ron Dunsky at Megadata at (631) 589-6800 or (917) 587-9672, and review our website at http://www.passur.com.

The forward-looking statements in this news release relating to management's expectations and beliefs are based on preliminary information and management assumptions. Such forward-looking statements are subject to a wide range of risks and uncertainties that could cause results to differ in material respects, including those related to customer needs, budgetary constraints, competitive pressures, the success of airline trials, the profitable use of the Company's owned PASSURs located at major airports, the Company's maintenance of above average quality of its product and services, as well as potential regulatory changes. Further information regarding factors that could affect the Company's results is contained in the Company's SEC filings, including the October 31, 2000 Form 10-K, January 31, 2001 April 30, 2001, and July 31, 2001 Form 10-Q's.

They don't and haven't said that. The quotes I have heard say they have no indication it was terrorists, but don't say it definitely wasn't terrorists.
