may not travel outside the country. Their passports remain in possession of the court, although border controls between Spain its European Union neighbors no longer exist.

That's like putting a democrat in the middle of a free hand out and expecting them not to grab anything.

National Court officials refused to comment on the case.

Go figure. Who'd a thunk it.

Ghalyoun was first arrested in April on charges of forming part of a network of businesses that sent profits to al-Qaida organizations. But he was let go due to insufficient evidence.

Although they had copies of every transaction and 100 witnesses, Ghalyoun said he didn't do it. He's the victim. Hey, good enough! Let him go!

Perhaps arresting the judge and defense attorney for aiding the scumballs in a terrorist activity would help improve the judicial system.

This is the same "judge" who led the persecution of Pinochet. I guess, like many on the Spanish left, he identifies with the terrorists and their left-wing predecessors on the Communist side of the Spanish Civil War.

An al-Qaida suspect who shot videotapes of U.S. landmarks believed to have been used to prepare the Sept. 11 attacks may go free once he posts bail

Some may see this as a set back.

I see this as a golden opportunity to have these guys mysteriously disappear only to re-surface a week later in Guantanamo.

Wouldnt it be a shot across the bow of the Euro Trash nations if some of these Al Quaeda suspects disappeared or turned up dead soon after being released? Just a thought.

I agree. We kidnap them immediately and agree to return them for trial in Spain as needed.

If, before you throw them in the deepest parts of the ocean, you tie a big enough rock to them, they will not re-surface at all.
