Well first the interview by his former coworker wasn't very flattering. Second, didn't he have his pregnant wife with him. It seems odd a guy would take his pregnant wife into such a dangerous area, unless he thought because of his sympathies that he and his wife would not be targets. Also maybe he knew something and was killed as a warning to any other reporters as to what happens when you get close to the truth. Reads like a really bad novel. For all anyone knows could have just been exactly what anyone wants to think he was.
