Yes, she really said that. I know. I couldn't believe it either. She did say that she doesn't agree with President Bush's policies but that shouldn't surprise us.
Sometimes CNN shows a repeat of Larry King (with a celebrity) on the weekend, Saturday or Sunday. They will probably repeat it later this month, unless we are at war. Then you know it will be war 24 hours a day.

You maybe right. In an e-mail conversation with an extremely liberal minister, he said today that he had forgiven clinton but had been very disappointed that he had not stepped down. I distinctly remember this same man gloated from the pulpit when clinton was not removed from office, so I think his memory is a little cloudy. That sermon was the beginning of the end for me & that church.

Too bad Hilliary had already left the room.

I also heard Elizabeth Taylor say this on Larry King. She was adamant that Bush was doing much more for AIDS than Clinton ever did. I also believe that I heard her say that Clinton did NOTHING for AIDS the entire time that he was President. I was surprised how strongly she stated this I think that Larry King was surprised also.

Well, you are entitled to your opinions. I am entitled to mine, Camille Paglia is entitled to hers, and Richard Gere is entitled to his.
You are in good company in criticising Richard Gere: see this posting:
Senator Dodd: RICHARD GERE IS A JERK for his comments on Bill Clinton and AIDS
I tend to look at the PRICE someone pays for their opinion, and Richard Gere has the character to buck both the Left, with which he agrees part (or even most) of the time, and the right, with which he agrees part of the time, resulting in both sides attacking him.
I do not by any means agree with Richard Gere on most things but none-the-less admire him more than knee-jerk LIBERALS, or KNEE-JERK CONSERVATIVES.

The Clinton administration increased funding for AIDS research, prevention and treatment by over 400% and tripled funding for international AIDS programs." Should be easy enough to check.
