President Bush to America: Homosexuality is sin

When asked his view yesterday on homosexuality during his first public press conference in months, President Bush responded, "I am mindful that we are all sinners. And I caution those who may try to take a speck out of their neighbor's eye when they've got a log in their own."

The president also reaffirmed his strong, uncompromising stand for the sanctity of heterosexual marriage: "I believe a marriage is between a man and a woman and I think we ought to codify that one way or the other."

I thank God for the loving, Christian witness of our president. What a powerful message of hope he sent yesterday to America, as well as a strong rebuke to the out-of-control "gay" juggernaut destroying this nation.

Listen once again to the Christian message our president delivered: Homosexuality is sin, and before you deal with the homosexual's sin, deal with your own first.

Well, I am taking that as a command from our commander in chief.

After living the "gay" lifestyle for over 11 years – with well over 100 men sexually (many whom are dead today from AIDS) – I heard the same truth the president declared, from another Christian years earlier. She told me what God and His clear Word said about my homosexuality: It was sin. Because of this dear woman who cared enough to share the truth with me, I changed. Completely changed.

Today, by God's grace, I am happily married over 10 years to a beautiful Christian woman who knew me when I was "gay" and never stopped praying for me. I am also the father of our two little children. I have been completely set free. In 1992, I took the log out of my own eye when I realized my homosexual lifestyle was a sin before the Holy God. I permanently abandoned my homosexual behavior and moved on to healthy heterosexuality.

Understand: No one is born "gay" – no one. In most all cases, homosexuality tragically is birthed out of dysfunction early on in one's childhood. Just as a drug addict or alcoholic would never be encouraged to remain in their destructive lifestyle, the same must be said of the homosexual. The homosexual lifestyle is nothing but a counterfeit – a fake – and a fraud. With my boyfriend, I was "playing house." Today, I'm a husband and father ... and I've got the real thing.

As the president commanded, I've removed the log from my own eye. Now, I am more able to help take the speck out of my homosexual neighbor's eye. Although I've overcome homosexuality, I completely agree with the president that yes, we are all sinners.

Today, I am an evangelist to the "gay" and lesbian community, proclaiming the same biblical truth our president declared yesterday. My heart's desire is to reach the homosexual man and woman with the life-changing, soul-saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.

On Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, Christians from around the country will join me in Stephen Bennett Ministries national evangelistic outreach to the "gay" and lesbian community in Provincetown, Mass., for "Out of the Fire: Project: P-Town."

"P-town" is one of the largest "gay" subcultures in the Northeast. The tiny community of 4,000 swells to over 60,000 in the summer months. Most of the visitors are "gay" and lesbian. We are going to P-town to specifically proclaim President Bush's message – the biblical message – that homosexuality is a sin. And no doubt, we will share with these dear men and women, by the power of Jesus Christ, complete change is completely possible.

Thousands of Bibles, evangelistic Gospel tracts, as well as CDs with a special recorded evangelistic message from myself to the homosexual will be handed out. A plane provided by the Family Policy Network of Virginia carrying the banner "Jesus Christ: HopeForHomosexuals.com" will fly over the town during the event.

We are going to Massachusetts with one purpose – and one purpose only: to reach the homosexual for Jesus Christ.

Thank you President Bush for your biblical stand on homosexuality and the sanctity of heterosexual marriage. You are truly a leader, a brother in Christ and a role model for all Americans. As you have commanded sir, I have taken the log out of my own eye. Now, I and many other fellow Christians from across America are going to help our homosexual neighbors, Lord willing, to remove the speck from their eyes.

Mr. President, I commend you for your powerful, heartfelt words to reach the homosexual with the truth in love about their sin. As my commander in chief, please know that I willingly accept the call.

"I believe a marriage is between a man and a woman and I think we ought to codify that one way or the other."

This statement may leave it open for homosexuals to join in a different gov't union with a label other than marriage.

Interesting that the left is attacking the right for intolerance to homosexuals. As though the Clinton admin did something for them? >>>
Defense of Marriage Act, signed by President Clinton in 1996, which prohibits the federal government from recognizing state-sanctioned homosexual "marriages."

I'm glad to see a reformed homosexual taking the initiative to reform others; however, the message may be better received if he plays down the "you're sinning."

Homosexuality is a sin so vile that even the angels of hell are repulsed by it.

Then why is the Repub. Party sucking up to the Log Cabin Republicans? It's no secret. I don't watch what people say, I watch their feet. Republicans are light democrats.

Sorry, I read too quickly, didn't see the hell part in the original.

Thorondir, do you happen to know the work the Leo XIII quote came from?

It frustrates me when people say that we shouldn't judge gays because they were "born like that". No, they weren't. Get with the program. And if they were, explain to me the stories I've heard and read about people being gay and then going straight. What happened to their "homosexual birth gene"?

I see the "born with it" excuse as a way of saying once again, "It's not my/her/his fault" when it is.

Dear Gopher Broke,

This may surprise you, but I NEVER say thank you to people who use their God given common sense, tell the truth and do the right thing. You see, these are traditional values found in both ordinary and extraordinary people. We can choose to use the gifts that God gave us or not use them. President Bush chose to use plain common sense by doing the right thing and telling the truth. This is what most of us do every day. No thanks needed or expected.

FYI.
