Odd. I've not heard Abe Foxman railing from the rooftops against this play.

Who knows, maybe he is shell shocked from the threats to Frank Richman.

No! It's pretty sad when you have a Moslem cleric declaring a fatwa against Terrence McNally but you seemly hear nothing from the ADL who are basically proposing The Passion is going to regender the "Christ Killer" belief and so promote Anti-Semitism.

Just a quick response - Coeur de Lion kindly responded to my eariler comment about not being a "Homo-phobe" but a "Theo-phobe." He suggested I go with "Theo-phile."

However, I really did mean "phobe" not "phile"...
I meant "Theo-phobe" in the sense of fearing the God Who will return someday. And tragically, sadly, judge those who hold to such vile ideology. That is a reverent fear, most certain - of a God who truly loves His creation and wants them to change their hearts and follow His wisdom. Not wishing any to perish (II Peter 3:9)! The proof is in the cross...

And then again, I must at the same time agree - while I do "fear" my Lord and His coming (for the sakes of those Who do not fear Him and disobey Him [II Thessalonians 1:8,9]), I most certainly "love" Him and His eternal wisdom as well. So, I appreciate your point. Thank you.

Ping me on this please, any updates. Why do the liberalpukes think they can impugn a revered religious figure (to us, the Son of God) with no response?

Maybe I missed it--but I don't see a date/time. Was one announced?

Sorry, I should have specified the date and time (it's in the Capital Crimes link). This profane performance will be running March 5-27 on the square at the Bartell Theatre (sic) so we have plenty of time to get our letters in and hopefully to organize the picketing.

You need ten thousand unstoppable people surrounding that place. It is your Savior, for crying out loud, DO IT. P.S. I am not a Christian, but if I lived in that city, I would be there in front of the theatre doing what is right.

Thank you for your advice and encouragement. I don't know what your religion is but I sure wish we had you on our team!

The fear of God is the begining of all wisdom.

Will do.

Why do the liberal pukes think they can impugn a revered religious figure (to us, the Son of God) with no response?

Sadly, the heathens probably think that they can get away with this kind of blasphemous provocation because, as many of the posters on this thread have shown, most Christians are simply too cowardly to defend their faith and their Savior.

This play ridiculed Christ...

Would that was all it did. It's single-minded, intentional blasphemy.

Did the show sell out in your town or are there more people like you?

Ignore these minions of Satan and they will wither away in their hate and irrelevence.

If an angry envious person reviles, slanders and proclaims vicious lies about someone you love, is quietly ignoring it the right thing to do? Wouldn't you stand up for the one you loved against the personal character attack?

We have the reputation for being a very conservative town, but I fear we are only really conservative in the opinion of the Libs. I did hear about the play, but after the "local smallminded Conservatives try to stamp out the free speech of play-givers" we heard nothing about the play.

Keep me and BE advised of plans.

I will be out and about earlier in the year gathering recall petition signatures for about every Democrat in the Legislature and Governor's Office...

I shouldn't have to make all the regular arguments, but one always stands out...if this play ridiculed blacks, or Jews, or Muslims, or the poor, or the fat, or homosexuals, or the transgendered, or the bisexual, or one-legged color-blind penguins, some protest group would bitch, and it would have been called off. This play ridiculed Christ and Christians, so the "arts community" blathered on about freedom of speech. Nobody cares if they offend us. We are going to "tolerance" ourselves straight to Hell in this country.

Start a rumor that it portrays Mohammed somehow.
