"I would assume Carlson -- unless he's a complete and utter moron -- has his number unlisted."

Then he should have said so instead of giving out an erroneous number when asked for his home number.

CNN's Tucker Carlson thought he was having a bit of fun when, during a "Crossfire" segment in which he defended telemarketers, he was asked for his home number but recited the number of the Fox News Washington bureau instead. Fox retaliated by posting Carlson's unlisted Virginia number on its Web site.

ROFL !! Good for FOX News. hahaha ! They got the last laugh ...

He should be thankful they took it down. How stupid of this Tucker Carlson ...

How exactly does Carlson know how the Mafia behaves? First person experience?

Tucker Carlson is a Metrosexual!

There is a word out there to describe Tucker Carlson, but "metrosexual" isn't that word. Nobody that dresses like Les Nessman is a metrosexual.

I did watch Tucker and Franken on Russert and while I can't understand Tucker's politics, I admired the way he made Franken look like an angry, whiny left wing idiot. Franken got so angry at Tucker's only resposnse to his diatrabes being a smirk that he couldn't conntain himself. So funny.

Oh, so it WAS adversarial? Okay then, I'll give Tucker credit for that. What he did to Fox was still smarmy, though.

I guess nobody from FR except me watched Franken and Tucker. As I said before, Tucker is a wass but he sure won the debate with Franken. Franken got sooo angry and Tucker just smirked at him. That made Franken even angrier and he told Tucker to stop smiling.

I disagree. This whole thing occured when discussing the Do-Not-Call List. As I understand it, Carlson disagreed with the Do-Not-Call List, and taking the side of the telemarketers said that anyone that wanted to call him at home could do so at such-and-such phone number. It turns out that the phone number he gave out was Fox New's number. Fox just posted a banner that stated that Carlson asked that he be contacted at home, but gave out the wrong number, and supplied the correct number. I see nothing wrong with this.

As far as Fox is concerned, Carlson made a mistake and Fox corrected it. Now if Carlson wants to claim that he intentionally gave out the wrong number, I am sure that Fox could sue Carlson for economic damages.

WASHINGTON — In what could only have been a journalistic blunder, Tucker Carlson, co-host of CNN's "Crossfire," gave out the wrong phone number Thursday when prodded on the show to reveal his home number.

Carlson, apparently confused, mistakenly gave out the number of the Washington bureau of Fox News Channel, which received numerous phone calls.

Viewers who want to reach Carlson can, in fact, dial the television "personality" at his Virginia home at 703-519-####.[Last four digits redacted]

Following a riveting segment on his show about who's most annoying -- telemarketers, lawyers or talk show hosts -- Carlson graciously gave out his phone number to an e-mail writer who said he wanted to direct-market to Carlson some of his "junk in the garage."

Carlson praised the writer for his good idea, and co-host Paul Begala, egging him on, dared Carlson to give out his number.

"Get out your pen," Carlson said before reciting the main line at Fox News' Washington bureau.

"You can reach me there anytime," Carlson said. "That's fine. I have defended telemarketers. Feel free to call me, someone is always there."

After numerous callers made clear they had intended to reach Carlson, Fox News felt obligated once again to get the facts right and correct Carlson's error. Carlson's actual home phone number is 703-519-####.

Thursday's hijinks were apparently the work of careful preparation, made evident in a tease before the commercial break in which Begala said: "In our 'Fire Back' segment, we'll find out if Tucker will be hearing a lot more about one of our viewers and what he or she keeps in their garage."

Now that viewers have the correct phone number, perhaps Carlson will be hearing a lot more.

For the record, talk show hosts ranked third in the 'who's most annoying?' poll. Of course, polling conducted after the show could register signficant changes.
