The Washington Post yesterday commented that the Muslim Brotherhood , which was founded in 1928 by Hassan Al Banna, and inspired Hamas and Al Quida , was inspired by the YMCA.
“inspired by the YMCA when it was founded in 1928, the Muslim Brotherhood has been under a ban since 1948, and its real size is difficult to gauge. The group was brutally repressed by President Gamal Abdel Nasser in the 1950s and 1960s. Since then, it has at times been propped up as a foil – especially for Western audiences – with periodic crackdowns that have sent many of its members to prison.”(Will Englund “Muslim Brotherhood says its only a bit player in Egypt protests” Wash Post 1-31-11)
What the Post forgot to mention was that the Muslim Brotherhood, whose motto is,”“Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope”is a highly organised political jihad whose goal is the implementation of Shariah,(Islamic law) around the globe, by political ,military or religious educational means.
Not quite the YMCA, the brotherhood, which was started in Egypt after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, went largely un noticed, even in the Islamic world, until it came under the wing of the Nazi Party in 1939.
The Brotherhood’s founder, Hassan Al Banna was a great admirer of Hitler. After World War 2 the Brotherhood assassinated the King of Egypt, installing Gamal Abd Nasser in his place. After several assassination attempts by the Muslim brotherhood, Nasser severely repressed the movement in Egypt,killing several of its leaders and imprisoning and torturing hundreds of others.
Nasser was succeeded by Anwar Sadat as president of Egypt, but after signing a peace treaty with Israel, Sadat was assassinated by troops he was reviewing, who were , you guessed it, Muslim Brothers.
Sadat’s vice president in Egypt ,Hosni Mubarak knew who he was dealing with in the Muslim brotherhood, and continued the Egyptian policy of repression. One of the Muslim Brothers that had been imprisoned was Ayman Al Zawahiri, the Egyptian pediatrician who became Osama bin Laden’s right hand man.
Another of the Egyptian Muslim Brothers imprisoned was Sayyid Qutb, who has provided the intellectual basis for the current violent world Jihad.His books have inspired Osama Bin Laden, Zawahiri, and countless other Jihadi’s the world over , to seek the overthrow of secular Muslim governments and the destruction of America, Israel and the civilised world in the name of Allah.
In Syria the brotherhood was almost wiped out by Ba’athist president Assad, because they didn’t believe that the dictator Assad being an Alawite, was a true Muslim. He repressed them, and they retaliated, massacring 83 young candidate Syrian artillery officers at a training school.
Assad retaliated by the near extermination of the Brotherhood in Syria, making membership a capital crime, and forcing the survivors underground, and into the arms of even more sinister organisations.
Did I mention “the Brotherhood” is in 70 nations, and there is even a well established US branch? They usually wear ties and are professional apologists for Islam, and through an army of attorneys wage “lawfare” against western nations. They are the inspiration for Hamas, Al Quida, and CAIR, (the Council on American and Islamic relations).
As this Egyptian fiasco plays out, you will see more and more of this kind of whitewashing of groups like “the brotherhood”, because the decadent and godless part of the west has been blinded by their own incapacity to face truth in so many other areas, and is so willing to make themselves believe a lie.
This is what Paul warned us about, in the last days,
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.(2 Thess 2:9-11)
Because they don’t want the truth about their sins, and the need to be saved, people render themselves vulnerable to a lot of other lies, like “Islam is a religion of peace and love!”, and “The Muslim Brotherhood is like the YMCA”, or “homosexuals have as much right to marry as straight people”, or “Everyone is going to heaven”.
Here is some truth for you, Jesus is coming, these things were prophesied, Judgment day draws near, and you are not ready for it in your natural state. God requires perfect righteousness, and we have all sinned. But what God requires, God provides… He sent his Son Jesus to die for our sins. The way we know He died for ours and not his own? God raised him from the dead on the third day!
If you believe this good news, God says you will be saved, that is washed from your sins, justified before Him, able to stand in Judgment, due to Jesus the substitute for us. “Whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved!” (Romans 10:8-13)
The Muslim Brotherhood is nothing like the YMCA…I’m just sayin…
This is a very primitive outlook, you know. In the apocryphal Book of Enoch, Enoch's asservations of the wickedness of mankind are justified by the wandering of the sun and moon from the perfect scheme of his divinely ordained calendry.
The variability of the earth’s magnetic poles has been well noticed, and in fact it’s the basis for the discovery of plate tectonics because of the record of the magnetic field in the rock of the ocean floor as it spreads from the ocean ridges.
We may be approaching an epochal event in the form of a magnetic field reversal, but our knowledge of earth history encompasses many such events, and in this and other things we have gained a vantage point above primitive awe, not to say we have transcended it!
Fact check:
King Farouk was not assassinated, he was overthrown by Nasser & Co and went into exile. The MB did not install Nasser, who regarded them as a mortal enemy, he and his fellow colonels engineered a takeover which insured more or less that Egypt would continue as a secular nation.
Nasser was a world class jerk when it came to foreign policy, but a Muslim Brother he has wnot.
To me the MB walks talks and acts like a Moslem Mafia.

In 1942, during World War II, Hassan al Banna set up more Brotherhood branches in Transjordan and Palestine. The headquarters of the Syrian branch moved to Damascus in 1944. After World War II, Egyptian members took violent action against King Farouk’s government. When the organization was banned in Egypt, hundreds moved to Transjordan. Many also participated in the Arab-Israeli War of 1948-1949. The Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood initially supported Gamal Abd an-Nasser's secular government and cooperated with it, but resisted left-wing influences. A Muslim Brother assassinated Egyptian Prime Minister Mahmud Fahmi Nokrashi on December 28, 1948. The Brotherhood was banned, and Al Banna himself was killed by government agents in Cairo in February 1949. Thanks for the correction-
