For now we see through a glass, darkly;
but then face to face; now I know in part;
but then shall I know even as also I am known."
- 1 Corinthians 13:12
Catholic Ping!
I’ve read this story several times. The intercession of Padre Pio is powerful.
I just had an answer from prayer for My car title problem. It went on for months. I asked Padre Pio for Prayer to help with this problem. The sealed Padre Pio pic card and rosary next to Christ's picture fell off the wall. I thanked God. I got a call it was being sent to me. I then got it.
I get a kick out of the doctors. I remember my mother when my father had a stroke. The doctor came after tests to tell my mother that my father would never work again in this life.
Well, my mother was praying looked up and laughed. She told him are you now in the office of God. He was bewildered. She told him he has to he is the bread winner. With prayer my Father was back to work in a month. Despite the bewildered doctor. He lived another 20 years. Died in his sleep in the tv room chair in 1994.
Praise Jesus and Hail Mary!! AMEN!!
St. Pio of Pietrelcina
A medical doctor claimed it was impossible for her to see since she had no pupils...
“Pray, hope, and don’t worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.”
“Prayer is the best weapon we have; it is the key to God’s heart. You must speak to Jesus not only with your lips, but with your heart. In fact on certain occasions you should only speak to Him with your heart.”
“Do you not see the Madonna always beside the tabernacle?”
“The longer the trial to which God subjects you, the greater the goodness in comforting you during the time of the trial and in the exaltation after the combat. “
“Fear not because God is with you.”
“Prayer is the oxygen of the soul.”
“Who can assure us that we will be alive tomorrow? Let us listen to the voice of our conscience, to the voice of the royal prophet: “Today, if you hear God’s voice, harden not your heart.” Let us not put off from one moment to another (what we should do) because the (next moment) is not yet ours. “
“Oh, how precious time is! Blessed are those who know how to make good use of it. Oh, if only all could understand how precious time is, undoubtedly everyone would do his best to spend it in a praiseworthy manner!”
“The life of a Christian is nothing but a perpetual struggle against self; there is no flowering of the soul to the beauty of its perfection except at the price of pain.”
Having studied quite a bit on Padre Pio, I have always found this story to be one of the most fascinating. This is not something that happened long long ago, lost in the mists of memory and legend. Over the decades, many doctors examined Gemma. They were dumbfounded by her situation - having no pupils and yet able to see. There’s a lot of documentation on this case - lots of video, much medical testimony. Powerful stuff...
Thanks Salvation for posting this... I have been praying for my father’s healing for six years.
“Aniridia is an eye disorder characterized by a complete or partial absence of the colored part of the eye (the iris). These iris abnormalities may cause the pupils to be abnormal or misshapen. Aniridia can cause reduction in the sharpness of vision (visual acuity) and increased sensitivity to light (photophobia).”
Having Aniridia doesn't mean total blindness since there are methods of controlling the level of light entering the eye... Also, from my readings, she was never able to have complete vision without devices to control the light entering her eyes. In other words, there was no miracle...
