Talking about Christianity could just put people off – Church of England signals

The Church of England is set to signal to members that speaking openly about their faith could do more harm than good when it comes to spreading Christianity.

Stark new research findings being presented to members of the Church's ruling General Synod suggest that practicing Christians who talk to friends and colleagues about their beliefs are three times as likely to put them off God as to attract them.

The study, commissioned privately by the Church of England and a coalition of other Christian groups, also found that four in ten British adults did not even think that Jesus was (a) "real person who actually lived".

Meanwhile, a third of those surveyed said they were not aware of anyone they know being a practicing Christian. ...

= = =

You are not spreading Christianity if what you are spreading does more harm than good.

Or check your defns. of ‘harm’ and ‘good’.

The stupidity is significant. The answer is not to stop talking about God, it is to learn how to talk about God effectively. My guess is that Christians would be better followers of God’s word if they understood it well enough to talk about God more sensibly.

By “harm” they probably mean making people see the light about the evils of socialism of all forms.

One of the goals of communists has always been infiltrating churches worldwide and promulgating their replacement “social” false gospel. Here it is on display unabashedly.

These idiot “leaders” need to step down now.

Clearly, they don’t have the requisite equipment (spine, testicles) for the task at hand.

1/3 of the people surveyed didn’t know a practicing Christian? Wonder where they took the survey?

So don’t talk about Christianity. They’ll go to hell, but at least they won’t be put off.

In Jesus’ parable of the sower (Matthew 13) only 25% of the seeds took root (Matthew 13) so this sounds just about right. The answer isn’t to stop witnessing, but to acknowledge that many people won’t be receptive to the Gospel. It’s up to the Holy Spirit to convert them anyway, our task as Christians is to make sure they hear of the Gospel.

And lest anyone think that in our society everyone has a basic understanding of it, no they don’t. Especially with all the misinformation spewed by the media about Christianity.

I don’t recall that Jesus told us to just shut up. It was quite the opposite.

Jesus told us to do this

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

not this

“The Church of England is set to signal to members that speaking openly about their faith could do more harm than good when it comes to spreading Christianity. “

The church of England got where it is today by allowing non believers in their government to elect their leaders and that is why they have a druid leading their church instead of a Christian. Most of them have no idea what the Gospel is since they have been preaching a fake social gospel instead for a long time and that is why they side constantly with and try to find common ground with the abomination that is islam .

Isa_52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Too bad these folks don’t read the Book!

Matthew 10

32Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.

34Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to turn

a man against his father,

a daughter against her mother,

a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law

36 man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.

37Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.

40Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. 41Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. 42And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.

Isaiah 52:7 is repeated in Romans 10:15.
And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
More modern translations use “good news” in place of “gospel”. The Hebrew word in Isaiah is basarah while the Greek word in Romans is evangelizomenon.

Especially if it involves Jesus being the Son of God, since the Koran declares multiple times that Allah has no son.
