Archbishop Charles Chaput is "not Christian"? That's the claim made by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, who disagrees with the archbishop's recent directive to priests in his archdiocese to deny communion to gay, divorced and unwed couples. Kenney, who was raised in an Irish Catholic family and who attended St. Joseph's Preparatory School, tweeted his dissatisfaction with the archbishop's statement:

St. Joseph’s Preparatory School is, of course, run by the Jesuits.

Sometimes it’s really hard to distinguish the Church, around for a coupla thousand years, from the latest fad or media philosophy.

You gotta feel sorry for this mayor. /sarc

Apparently Philadelphia’s resident theologian doesn’t agree with the local bishop about something that has been a matter of Church doctrine for more than 2,000 years.

I do not say this with any hyperbole. The great division in our world and the great attack on Christ is due to the Devil and the demonic. Here is a talk given by Venerable Fulton Sheen near the end of his life that discusses the Devil and the diabolical. The insanity of the world begins to make sense when viewed through this lens.

And I thought former Mayor Nutter was bad!

(This Kenney clown is the same disgusting demonicrat CINO and AINO (American in name only) who just rammed through a new tax on soda pop in Philadelphia last month, as shown here.)

Philly has had a string of mayors who are alumni of St.Joe’s Prep—Philly’s Jesuit high school. All pro-abortion.

Not quite 2,000 years. Just since the institution of the Eucharist.

Scripture tells us NOT to take the Body and Blood unworthily. You are to examine your own heart, and that's where the trouble is entering in. many are starting to crack and deny the Scriptures say what they clearly say. Homosexuality( sodomy for all the weirdo's that say homosexuality wasn't invented until the 1800's as a diagnoses for as mental condition), is an abomination to God. It is unnatural and not of God, so it is a counterfeit by Satan. Taking Eucharist while in rebellion can cause sickness and death. We are not in a democracy and nobody is asking for a vote. It doesn't matter how many believe this or that. God said it and we are His. If 90% believe sodomy is no longer a sin, it matters not. The Judge of the universe says otherwise.

Having said all that, I've said for years now that the baby killers of the Kennedy, Pelosi, Kerry, Biden, clan, should be forbidden the sacraments until they get their votes right. It's confusing to welcome them in church, allow them participation, and celebrate them, as they murder millions of babies in the womb. If 90 priests declare abortion is murder, and then give the sacraments to people we know are killing babies, it looks like we are hypocrites. Romans 1:32 says those that even approve of the afore mentioned sins are guilty as the ones performing them, marries the sin and the thoughts to the supporters. If you support gay marriage, you are a sodomite, in God's eyes. If you look upon a woman with lust, you have committed adultery. If you support abortion, you are a murderer. Receiving Eucharist means you are partaking in the likeness of Christ. Don't take it unless you have submitted to Christ.

Just my opinion of course, but if a priests knows someone is in sin, they should NOT offer the body of Christ to them. Repentance and salvation should come first.

So start your own church Jimmy. The Catholic Church is not a club. Her rules are not subject to public debate with liberal politicians who would publicly deny the Church for a few more votes.

Amen. Unfortunately the leaders of the Church seem to not get that.

the National catholic Reporter (not the Register, the Reporter) begs to disagree...

one of their most ardent causes is to drop Catholic from the name of the Church, in favor of something like Congregations for Christ...non-denominational to the core, of course...
