I thought Jesus forgives sin? This confuses me. Im serious. The Bible tells us that God forgives us our sins through our belief in the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus(who is one with The Father), so yes Jesus is the one who forgives sin. Any other belief is based on denominational doctrines and is unBiblical. Of course that's probably not a very popular statement on this thread...

When we commit a sin, unless it's murder, which abortion is, we are forgiven of our sins if we confess them to God and never do it again Who are you preaching to???
You for one, since you taught that unlike other sins, abortion is not are forgiven if we confess them to God in true repentance.

See above posts (daniel1212) by the grace of God. Some Catholics do not know (or care) what Scripture says, and some are even ignorant of what their (heretical ) church teaches.Sad but true.

Francis is going to approve drive-thru confessionals next. Then maybe an Android app.

Its Chriut who forgives the sin, of course- through the priest. Which distinctively titled, uniquely sacerdotal, normatively celibate Catholic priests where nowhere seen in the NT church. All this was a later unScriptural development.
The RC propaganda of which has been exposed as such before, but as it keeps being posting, so should the refutation.

Thats stupid. The Lord forgives our sins when we bring them to Him. (Catholic here). We ask pardon and absolution. And there is the PLAN to not commit that sin again. Then we DO/say our penance and can be happy of heart again.

If theres anything unforgivable, its abortion. As I recall my religion class there is ONE Unpardonable Sin:
Luke 12:10
And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

I dont go to your church, so preach to your people, I have already have someone to preach to me...thanks anyway... If you to be protected in a bubble and not see your erroneous public teaching corrected, then you need to restrict yourself to Catholic caucus threads. For in open forums, as the Religion Moderator warns ,
Antagonism though not encouraged, should be expected
Posters may argue for or against beliefs, deities, religious authorities, etc. They may tear down others beliefs. They may ridicule. Open RF debate is often contentious.
It requires thick skin. A poster must be able to make his points while standing his ground, suffering adverse remarks about his beliefs - or letting them roll off his back...If you keep getting your feelings hurt because other posters ridicule or disapprove or hate what you hold dear, then you are too thin-skinned to be involved in open RF debate.
Why not just correct your theological error?

“Murder is murder.
Only one sin is unforgivable. Read the Bible and know it.”
So YOU have decided to consign St. Paul to hell?
Interesting.

Not sure I understand you, MHGinTN. Are you saying Christ does not forgive this sin?

While this is not easy to do imo, Matthew 18:21-22 shows that Jesus taught everybody to forgive everybody.

Maybe the priest on Fox can teach the Pope? He won’t listen to me ...
