Does the author believe it is possible for the Church officially to recognize a saint in opposition to God’s will?
I vote for Susan Dey.
She did some fairly good works.
Just read the article.
Catholic Worker Movement = Commies.
I vote for Doris Day ...
She had some fairly good (upper)works.
This woman espoused an evil political ideology that she sought o impose on the world under the false pretense of “justice”. I know she had an abortion, which I have less of a problem with since one can regret, repent, and receive forgiveness, but as far as I know she never repented of her communist ways.
How about Lynda Day George?
It is impossible to know whether God favors or opposes a given canonization.
The Church claims that canonization is an infallible act.
What this means: It is impossible for the Church to canonize someone who is, in fact, in Hell.
What this does NOT mean: It is impossible for the Church to canonize someone when doing so would harm or mislead people.
Paul VI was the most destructive Pope of all time, rivaled only by Bergoglio. He should never have been beatified, and should never be canonized, because doing so would inevitably be perceived as endorsement of his disastrous acts. But as long as he squeaked into Heaven, infallibility cannot prevent his canonization. His canonization could be “true,” and at the same time be harmful.
Yes, a bunch of commies.
Sadly, Dorothy Day is pretty much a perfect symbol for this pope.
I’d suggest that all canonizations and such be put on hold until it can be seen if the Church can regain its bearings following the death or replacement of its ridiculous current pope.
I think if they’re going to have a Dorothy Day, they must also have a Tin Man Day. Only fair. That guy had a heart.

POST OF THE DAY!
Clever wins!
She had an abortion/ She may have been sorry about it and post abortive women can be forgiven with the proper confession, however- I do not see how someone who had an abortion can possibly be elevated to the altar of sainthood.
Not to mention her communism. Horrible choice by a horrible Pope.
Sainthood? Well the Catholic Church’s official DEVIL’S ADVOCATE will thoroughly vet her. And from that knowledge, combined with the good stuff, sainthood will be decided on.
Thanks! We DO have fun around here, don’t we?
I vote for Otis Day.
Que sera, sera
Thanks! We DO have fun around here, dont we?

We sure do!
Thanks for pointing this out. Day’s imagined “sanctity” was not “heroic.” Her followers continue to follow—and magnify—her errors; see http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/3547459/posts.
Sounds good to me.
