The Ashling Hotel cancelled the event due to 'health and safety' after online abuse and threats of protest
A hotel in Dublin has cancelled a pro-life event after receiving a barrage of online abuse.
Human Life International had booked an event at the Ashling Hotel for Saturday, September 30, however they say the hotel cancelled their booking after receiving a large number of negative emails and social media posts.
Patrick McCrystal, HLIs executive director, told Independent.ie the group was hosting a conference on the effects of abortion on womens physical and mental health.
However, the hotel contacted him this week to say they had called off the event.
The manager himself spoke to me directly of 50 pages of commentary, emails and social media, that a Facebook page had been set up opposing the conference, as well as diatribe, intimidation, upset of his staff, personal visits to the hotel and threats of protest at the hotel if conference continues. In the interest of health and safety of his staff, he had to cancel venue, McCrystal said.

Every liberal is a violent totalitarian thug.
The land of my ancestors is dead to me.It was killed largely by its ugly association with the European Union. In fact I don’t think it would be wrong to say that *Europe* is dead.
I agree, and Ireland is the land of my ancestors as well.
The first time I went to Ireland (1980), the vast majority of Irish people I saw - including young people - were so very Catholic (obviously except for Northern Ireland), pro-life and pious. We went to Mass a few times while we were there. The churches were *packed*. I mean, standing room only outside of one particular medium-sized country church.
I cannot believe what Ireland has become. It's appalling and sad.
Returning to their roots.
The hotel people are discriminating and wrong.
Progressive/Fascist intimidation.
MEGA-RICH AMERICANS ARE FUNDING THE ABORTION PUSH IN IRELAND. WHY?
