Probably because it isn't _old_. Naming and thinking of it as _old_ Testament leads modern man to it being irrelevant. I prefer to think of it, even call it, the
First Testament and the Second Testament, cause that's what they actually are. His Testaments like His convenants, successively layer over previous convenants. YHVH does not abrogate covenants. Kingdom people are grafted into the Kingdom convenants.
All of the First Testimant is prophetic. Revelations says, the scriptures,
the whole Book is the Testimony of Yeshua, and Yeshua is the Spirit of Prophecy.

Or worse, some think (maybe subconsciously) that if some concept is in the OT, it is no longer in effect, or it is even wrong.
Such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, etc., being in the OT, were wrong then, but NOT now.

Rather I call the OT the Hebrew scriptures. The NT is called the Greek scriptures.
