Pew: Unitarians, Atheists, Agnostics Most Favorable to Abortion

Those who identify as Unitarian Universalists, Atheists or Agnostics are the strongest supporters of legalized abortion in America, according to a report published by the Pew Research Center this week.

Ninety percent of members of the Unitarian Universalist Church, a liberal religion professing no creed or specific belief in God, said that abortion should be legal “in all or most cases,” Pew found, while atheists and agnostics followed behind with 87 percent of each group asserting the same thing.

Notably, 75 percent of all Americans are against abortion-on-demand and believe that abortion should not be legal in all cases, as it is currently in the United States. This means there is significant support among voters for restrictions on legal abortions.

The majorities of nearly all mainline Christian churches agreed to the same statement, though in smaller percentages, while less than 50 percent of Catholics and evangelicals believe that abortion should be legal in all or most cases. Seventy-nine percent of Episcopalians, 65 percent of Presbyterians, 58 percent of Methodists, and 56 percent of Anglicans support legal abortion “in all or most cases.”

American Jews, Buddhists, and Hindus are among the groups most favorable to legal abortion, with 83 percent, 82 percent, and 68 percent respectively supporting legal abortion “in all or most cases,” Pew found.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, the majorities of most Evangelical churches believe that abortion should be illegal in all or most cases, as do Jehovah’s Witnesses as well as Mormons.

To be precise...no Christian supports abortion. I can stand in a barn and call myself a horse but I still don’t have four legs and a tail.

Why there is no Unitarian Pro-Life group today is quite a mystery.

"It is not less murder to destroy the life of a child in a woman's body than in a man's cradle or a public highway."

--Theodore Parker, Unitarian minister, 1857.

Seems to be some, especially young, Christians who are against abortion are too offended by Trump to support his decidedly PRO LIFE actions. You see they are too pure to express support for a man like Trump because of the way he talks and because the media says so many bad things he has done. I am frustrated with all the purists and #neverTrumpers. So tired of the drama. He has done great things. He is not perfect but he has made action not words.

Matthew 7:21-23 is one of the saddest scriptures in the NT. Jesus is obviously referring to folks who considered themselves Christians, relying on their salvation, only to find out too late they were wrong.

Satan delights in dividing and separating the flock from the Shepherd and dispersing the lambs and sheep into the wild to become prey for the dragon.

He gets off by sending his crows to eat the seeds planted by the Sower, and by feeding the flock with the darnel he has sown and grown with the wheat.

These false teachings and false doctrines encourage rebellion within the flock, leading many to divide and separate themselves from the Shepherd, willfully giving themselves over to the dragon.

Notably, 75 percent of all Americans are against abortion-on-demand and believe that abortion should not be legal in all cases

But it is legal in 98.9% of all cases, thanks to nine men in black robes.

I thought we lived in a democratic country.
