Lutheran University Holding Event With Planned Parenthood Where Women Brag About Their Abortions
LIFE NEWS ^ | Feb 12, 2018 | Micaiah Bilger

A Christian university in Washington state will open its stage in March to women who believe aborting their unborn babies was a good thing.

The theater department at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington is sponsoring the pro-abortion event in partnership with the Planned Parenthood abortion chain, according to the Daily Caller.

The event, “Out of Silence: Abortion Stories from the 1 in 3 Campaign,” will promote the disproved statistic that one in three women will abort an unborn baby in her lifetime.

“From the halls of Congress to pulpits and court houses around the country, women’s personal stories about abortion have been silenced—until now,” the event page at Pacific Lutheran states.

However, this is not true, either. Women who regret aborting their unborn babies have been sharing their stories for decades through the Silent No More Awareness Campaign and other pro-life projects. The 1 in 3 Campaign does not welcome these women to share their stories, though. The purpose of these pro-abortion events is to normalize abortion through storytelling, and women who regret ending their unborn babies’ lives hinder this mission.

Here’s more from the report:

The “1 in 3 Campaign” is part of Planned Parenthood’s Advocates for Youth program, and describes itself as a grassroots movement to start a new conversation about abortion, according to its website.

“As we share our stories we begin to build a culture of compassion, empathy, and support for access to basic health care. It’s time for us to come out in support of each other and in support of access to legal and safe abortion care in our communities,” the website reads.

Carly Stauffer, president of the Students for Life chapter at Pacific Lutheran, said she was disappointed to hear that a university that calls itself Christian is promoting abortion.

“It saddens me that abortion is being represented as something that is problematic not because it is unjust, morally evil, and ultimately oppressive to women, but because it simply isn’t talked about enough,” Stauffer said. “PLU’s middle name may be ‘Lutheran,’ but I sense the campus desires to divorce itself from traditional Christian values and pursue trendy social movements – like any typical American college campus.”

Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, told the Daily Caller that the event is “another example of the pseudo-theology employed by faux Christians to mask their ideological agenda that promotes discrimination, death and destruction.”

Pacific Lutheran is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, or ELCA, a liberal denomination whose pastors tend to support abortion.

Sad but true. ELCA is an apostate social club, not a Christian Church.

They want to brag about their abortions because if they don’t keep telling themselves over and over how great abortion is, they might have to confront the horror of what they did to their own babies.

Ironically, they do themselves no favors by constantly trying to suppress their knowledge of the horror they committed. If they have a conscience, then they end up doing all kinds of things to suppress that knowledge—obsessive eating, drinking, using drugs—and they often become unable to form any real attachments to anyone.

Far from being a wonderful right to brag about, abortion does a significant amount of harm to many of the women who were snookered into thinking it’s just another form of birth control. The ones who are not psychologically harmed are those who do not have human compassion in the first place (i.e. they are true psychopaths, incapable of perceiving others except as objects).

How many of these women who had abortions did so because of rape, or because the fetus was imperfect ?

Does it ever. Not Lutheran and would not be.

How is this slaughter against children in the womb any different than slaughter against the young in our school rooms?

Does not one encourage the other? Women are encouraging this violence by what they themselves practice.

No sympathy.

ELCA jumped into Hell years ago.

Its path and the path of Christ are opposites.

Its heretical that ELCA calls itself Christian.

Women who abort don’t do so because they have been misled.

Women who abort do so because they want the baby to die.

Their actions are taken in full understanding of what they are doing, and they are fully morally culpable for those actions.

I suppose that fact is too horrific for some to acknowledge, but it is a fact none the less.

Is it possible they are counting the number of abortions and not taking into account the fact that many women have more than one?

They do that with divorce “statistics”: they say half of all marriages end in divorce. Well, yes, but some people get divorced again and again. It doesn’t mean half the people get divorced.

Yes. I was an ELCA member from its inception until the 90’s when they became the abortion church. I have had so many aborted women in treatment to work through the trauma of what they had done; yet the ELCA could not care less about these damaged and wounded women.

I went to a synod convention one time, only to hear the muckymucks degrade and disparage Lutherans for Life as if they were crackpots. That was enough for me. I swam the Tiber years ago and never regretted it.
