God frees, ideas and ideologies do not: they make prisoners. From this axiom, clearly expressed in the Gospel of John and his reference to the doctors of the law, Pope Francis unfolds his homily during this morning mass in Casa Santa Marta before the C9 Cardinals, who until tomorrow will be attending their twenty-fourth meeting. Once again, the Pontiff warns against the risk of “rigidity”, which leads to placing oneself at the center and thus remain untouched before the works of the Holy Spirit and insensitive to new things.
The doctors of the law, in fact, were incapable of “discerning the signs of the times”. They were slaves of words and ideas, Bergoglio observes in his homily reported by Vatican News. “They keep going back to the same questions, they are incapable of leaving that closed world, they are prisoners of ideas. They received a law that was life but they “distilled” it, they transformed it into ideology and thus they toss and turn it and are unable to move beyond. Anything new for them is a threat.”
“This should come as no surprise, in human history there have always been and always will be “resistances to the Holy Spirit”, oppositions to “changes”. “Always, always to the end of the world”, the Pope affirms. But the Christian must tune in to a different frequency, because God “always comes to meet us with something new and original”.
Yes, an initial reticence is ok. It is part of that freedom that God leaves to his children. Indeed - the Pope observes - it is the “guarantee” that believers “are not deceived just by anything”. The important thing, however, is to find the way “with prayer and discernment” and above all to be “capable of placing the Holy Spirit at the center”.
In this sense Pope Francis recalls the example of the first disciples, reported in the First Reading of today, highlighting their docility to the new, and their aptitude for sowing the Word of God even outside the usual scheme of “this has always been done”. They, Bergoglio points out, “They remained docile to the Holy Spirit and accomplished something that was more than a revolution, it was “a strong change” where at the center “was the Holy Spirit, not the law, but the Holy Spirit”.
This is how the Church becomes “a Church in movement”, a Church that goes “beyond herself”. The apostles “were not a closed group of elect”, but “a missionary Church”. “The balance of the Church, so to speak, lies precisely in her mobility, in her faithfulness to the Holy Spirit – Francis emphasizes. Someone said that the balance of the Church is like the balance of the bicycle: it is stable and good when it is in motion; if (the bike) motionless, it falls down. A good example”.
“May the Lord grant us the grace knowing how to resist that which we must resist, that which comes from the evil one, that deprives us of our freedom. May we know how to open ourselves to new things, but only those that come from God. May he grant us, with the strength of the Holy Spirit, the grace to discern the signs of the times in order to make the decisions that we need to make in that moment.

new things and new understandings are sometimes ok, sometimes even very beneficial... but to put it candidly I do not trust this pope’s teaching ... any changes should be carefully and Clearly explained, with whatever scriptural justification may be available........as well as any additional reasoning...
but changes should NOT be attempted via Obfuscation and Confusion! God is not an author of Confusion... (1 Cor. 14:33). And as a shepherd or teacher, a pope must be especially mindful not to mislead his flock, for..the teacher is held to a stricter judgement (James 3:1)
Jesus in fact often talked about the bicycle, and how kick stands are works of the devil because they keep it stable while not in motion.
Let us open our minds to the idea that marriage is only between a man and a woman.
Let us open our minds to the Word of God that homosexuality is wrong.
Let us no longer be rigid but understand that fighting for God’s word and His Truth is righteous and correct.
Oh wait... that’s not what the Pope meant...
Bergoglio is destroying the Roman Catholic Church from the inside — it’s how Satan works. The College of Cardinals finally got what they wanted; Bergoglio was the second choice after Benedict. Knowing that Benedict was a transitional figure, the heretics bided their time.

I mention this because, at least in the Old Testament, one of the surest ways of bringing upon yourself the wrath of God is vanity, saying that you have, or can and should have, the power of God.
Of course the number one example of this was Lucifer. But it is a recurring refrain.
Which brings us to Francis, who seems to want to rewrite the word of God in his own image.
When this heretic commie pope tells me to be open to new things, I can only assume he means gay sex.
