State Police in Ireland investigating the sacrilege
KILDORRERY, Ireland (ChurchMilitant.com) - The latest scandal to rock the Irish Church involves the desecration of a church by a "priest" engaging in gay sex on the high altar.
The recent incident happened in St. Bartholomew's Church in Kildorrery, Ireland. Images obtained by Church Militant show a man dressed as a priest caught engaging in oral sex and other sexual activity with another man laid across the altar in the church.
Anthony Murphy, director of Lumen Fidei Institute, a Catholic lay association in Ireland, told Church Militant, "A profane and wicked attack has taken place and I am surprised the bishop has not closed this church for the investigation to take place especially as there is a possibility that the church will need to be reconsecrated."
"Dressing as a priest and committing acts of grave depravity on a consecrated altar indicate satanic motivation," Deacon Nick Donnelly, former website director of EWTN-Great Britain, explained to Church Militant. "It is a vile attack against Our Lord, Holy Mother Church and the sacred priesthood."
The church is in a wealthy area and is open all day, with parishioners coming and going, thus some conclude either the men enjoyed taking risks and snuck in during its open hours; or otherwise they are staff with ready access to the church and came in after hours.
The diocese has asked Garda (Ireland's police force) to investigate, while refusing to comment on the specifics of the case in view of "the criminal nature of the alleged incident." The investigation will look into the accuracy of the photos along with the church where the sacrilege occurred.
A source close to the situation told Church Militant he is asking Bp. William Crean of Cloyne to investigate whether the man disguised in.....

I’m a Baptist, but I’m also shocked by this profane act along with all my Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ. Prayers the the church parishioners at that location, and may God convict the hearts of those who did such a hideous thing.
Homosexuals frequently use religious objects in their protests, marches, and parades as objects of mockery instead. Yes, it is satanic. Is that surprising, since the Bible calls homosexuality itself an abomination?

Ironic isn’t it, that Pope Francis has so embraced the LGBT crowd? I weep for Catholics who believe in the Bible and HIgh Mass.
I suppose that if I were Catholic, I would want to also presume the man in the priest garb was impersonating a priest, as opposed to being a real one.
It just breaks my heart - particularly when children are abused and the perpetrators are shielded.
It serves no Christian interest when this happens. It defames Christianity. I know many sincere Catholics and I imagine they feel strongly about this too.
The LGBT crowd doesn’t so much want to join the church so much as to delegitimize it; to turn it into another worldly institution under the control of men, not God, therefore the devil. The Bible says in the last days the church will finally be overcome—this is the way to do it.
How this guy (in your USA TODAY link) could have said he "didn't know" it would be harmful to the child or to the Church, is bizarre.
All I can think is that sin of this sort makes people so deluded that they just can't think anymore.
It seems he is in denial - maybe to not face the evil he committed.
He should be in jail.

The Catholic church is too corrupt to say their places of worship are “THE HOUSE OF GOD”.
They defile their own bodies with their behavior, defiling anything else in the process is probably to be expected.
Hard to fathom their motivation. They must hate any reminders that say their perversions are wrong, so they attack them thinking they can somehow defeat them. The more they try to kill the truth and fail, the more vile they become in their attempts.
