VATICAN CITY (AP) — In the biggest shake-up yet in the Catholic Church's long-running sex abuse scandal, every active Chilean bishop offered to resign Friday over what Pope Francis said was their "grave negligence" in investigating abuse and protecting children.

The bishops announced at the end of an emergency Vatican summit that all 31 active bishops in Rome had signed a document offering to resign.

All the nonsense about how the Catholic Church has cleaned up the pedophilia scandal is disproven yet again. The problem lies in doctrinal error and self-serving church tradition that is not Biblical.

If the Church had wanted to destroy its brand, they couldn’t have come up with a better way to do it than to allow and protect pedophilia within the ranks. Preying on the congregation really diminishes respect for clergy.

Nothing more than crocodile tears. If Bergoglio accepts any of their resignations, he needs to resign himself.

Pedofiles .....really?

Actually the church has openly recruited homosexual deviants
And let them lose on people trying to build a Christinan life

Wait...get caught? Breaking multiple laws of church and man?
Just send them somewhere else

Want to talk about a RICO case this is it

The bishop and cardinals know what is going on... And still refuse
To cleanse these deviants from their church

I’d say accept the resignations, appoint Bishops from another country to oversee the diocese. Close the parishes of any disobedient priests.

Charge all Bishops to personally investigate all the scandals and turn in evidence to the authorities.

This will result in Frances’ resignation, which was the plan all along.

The new paradigm for popes will be that it is not a lifetime appointment, but for a term of years.

Eventually we might have four or five living popes at a time.

By then the Roman Caholic Church will be just another NGO.

Bergoglio Accused of Having Protected Father Grassi

Bergolio is one of them.

“Pedophilia” isn’t accurate,IMO. This is-I would bet-almost all HOMOSEXUALITY, priests abusing boys. I’ve said it before, I would rather see ONE, ONE priest per continent who actually lived his vows than have a church filled with homsexuals. Complete purge. Of course it won’t happen, they’re too high up in the Vatican and will protect the lower ranks to save their own heads. Catholicism shouldn’t be judged by the perverts working in it any more than your groceries should be valued by the lifestyle of the supermarket workers bagging your purchases.

Was that what caused the betrayal of Judas?

A church which has no scandal and no corruption is one which is of no concern to Satan.

Very significant development
Question this report which makes it sound like the bishops are defending deviant priests. Francis was bombarded when he went there about his position seeming to defend clergy accused of this.

The Catholic Church has paid out over 4 Billion dollars for abuses by Priests and others while making no real changes foundationally in Doctrine or other reforms that would punish those who offend. As many have suggested the rotting comes from within and tolerance is proved by the moving of an offender from one location to another but expulsion is rare

The Catholic church needs to get rid of it’s homosexual infiltrators.

The problem lies in doctrinal error

Yeah, because it says right there in the catechism that homosexual priests molesting teenage boys are A-OK ... oh, wait, it says nothing of the sort, in fact, it says precisely the opposite.

More like a failure of church discipline and leadership.

Do you know when the Chilean abuse occurred? Like within the last 10 years or what? I wish news articles would just follow who what where when & why. It can’t be that hard.

They're much too busy writing articles against Young Earth Creationism and claiming the Book of Jonah is a fairy tale!
