Pope Francis – Russian-Orthodox Must Not Become Catholic

During a May 30 meeting with a delegation of the Russian Patriarchate of Moscow, Pope Francis stressed that he doesn’t want Russian Orthodox to be become Catholics, “We will never allow ourselves to do this, I do not want it.”

Francis insisted that “in Moscow - in Russia - there is only one patriarchate: yours. We will not have another one.”

Francis also rejected the idea that there should be first a doctrinal agreement and then an ecumenical walking together. “This does not work for ecumenism”, he claimed. According to Francis, Christians must not wait until doctrinal problems are solved.

This means that Francis is advocating for an ecumenism without truth nor faith.

Truly disgusting. Franciscus can learn much from the Russian Orthodox...

You’ll wait a long time before a Russian Orthodox prelate will say that Catholics don’t need to become Orthodox.

The usual sentimental drivel from this heretic. He understands even less of Orthodoxy than he does of the church he is supposed to be leading. There were points of disagreement when Benedict was Pope. But it was always a respectful disagreement. I can’t say the same with this Pope.

Anaxios!

We are to hold hands with Lutherans, gathering rosebuds together, sharing Communion, inviting them to mass, just ignoring any doctrinal or faith conflicts... and yet don’t get near those bizarre Orthodox?

I admit I do not understand the fine points, but his attitude is not comprehensible for ecumenusm?
