While limited in its power, at times it controlled the Golan Heights themselves, and territory from Hermon to Gilead, north to south, and the River Jordan to Salcah, east to west. Following its conquest by the Israelites the city almost disappeared from historical records.

Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei Telling Advisors The ‘Hidden Imam’ Will Be Coming While He’s Still Leader

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei is telling his advisors that he has actually met the ‘Hidden Imam’ who promised to publicly appear while Khamenei is still Supreme Leader according to a senior cleric.
The Ayatollah (Age 71) has been in bad health and was rumored to be dying or even dead at one point last year.
The ‘Hidden Imam’ is a major ‘messianic’ figure in the shiite ‘end times’ apocalyptical scenario who is suppose to come back along with Jesus and rule the world after Muslims win an impossible war against the ‘great satan’. The Iranians believe that they are the ones that have been chosen to be victorious in a coming war against the Jews and the USA.
The Occultation (Arabic: غيبة Ghaybah) in Shia Islam refers to a belief that the messianic figure, or Mahdi, who in Shi'i thought is an infallible male descendant of the founder of Islam, Muhammad, was born but disappeared, and will one day return and fill the world with justice and peace. Some Shi'is, such as the Nizari Ismaili, do not believe in the idea of the Occultation. The groups that do believe in it differ on the succession of the Imamate, and therefore which individual is in Occultation. The Hidden Imam is still considered to be the Imam of the Time, to hold authority over the community, and to guide and protect individuals and the Shi'i community.
