Former president to march with son and husband in Dublin Pride event on Saturday
The Catholic Church’s teaching on homosexuality is “evil”, former president Mary McAleese has said.
Speaking ahead of her inaugural participation in the Dublin Pride event on Saturday, where she will march with her son Justin and his husband, the former president said that what the church was doing to people in the LGBTI community was “unchristian” and “worse than uncharitable”.
“The only person who can actually stop that… is the pope,” she added.
In a public interview at the Co Meath headquarters of the Missionary Society of St Columban, to mark that organistion’s centenary, the former president declined to be drawn on this week’s spat between Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin and Minister for Arts Josepha Madigan over the role of women in the church.
However, she said “the curial, magisterial church is so far behind the curve [on the issue] it is embarrassing”.

There is only one sound doctrine on homosexuality and it is so plain in Scripture that Paul was smack dab on the beam to set forth the advocacy of homosexuality as evidence of possibly being afflicted by a depraved mind: by the time someone is at that point a lot of proverbial horses will have already bolted the corral.
The desire by some to haul Christianity, not just the RCC, away from God and into the the waiting arms of the god of this World is the result of refusing to retain knowledge of God first, and the advocacy of homosexuality can be a consequence of something that precedes it.
People need to repent. Plain and simple.
If you fear the judgments of your society and not the Lord, even if you love your own child or relative living in sin more than you love the Lord and His judgments (and for the sake of your relative leave sound doctrine behind you), you are in a dangerous place to be.
Homosexuality is vile degeneracy. At its core is the molestation and imprinting of young boys. The Catholic Church sadly has lost its moral authority to denounce this abomination and protect young boys. They lost their authority due to the numerous well documented abuses of the clergy. The Irish Church has been especially soiled and weakened by this behavior. Not until homosexuals are purged from the clergy and celibacy is made optional will this problem begin to be solved. Optional celibacy would allow more normal homosexuals to enter the priesthood. Also the Jesuit order, which has devolved into a cabal of evil, degenerate homosexuals should be disbanded The Church needs to reform. The world needs a fearless Catholic Church with a clear moral message. Then it can tell this Irish harlot that she can march straight to hell.
