MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine president, who recently sparked outrage for calling God stupid, has courted new controversy in his largely Roman Catholic country by saying he will resign if anybody can prove that God exists.
President Rodrigo Duterte, who has had a thorny relationship with the church, questioned anew in a speech late Friday some of the basic tenets of the Catholic faith, including the concept of original sin, which he said taints even innocent infants and can only be removed through baptism in a church for a fee.
“Where is the logic of God there?” Duterte asked in a speech at the opening of a science and technology event in southern Davao city.
The 73-year-old leader said that if there’s “one single witness” who can prove, perhaps with a picture or a selfie that a human was “able to talk and to see God,” he will immediately resign.
Duterte, however, suggested that there must be a God or a supreme being that prevents billions of stars and celestial bodies from colliding in a frequency that could have long threatened the human race.
Last week, he was slammed, including by some of his political allies, for calling God “stupid” in another speech, with one Catholic bishop calling him a “psychopath.”
Duterte lamented in that speech that Adam and Eve’s sin in Christian theology resulted in all the faithful falling from divine grace.
“Who is this stupid God? This son of a bitch is then really stupid,” he said last week. “You were not involved but now you’re stained with an original sin … What kind of a religion is that? That’s what I can’t accept, very stupid proposition.”

Only God can prove God exists.
At 73, Duterte will see God face-to-face pretty darn soon.
Would be freaking awesome to have Jesus show up over Manila and say “ready to resign”?

There's much more evidence that he does exist than not. Look around....where did it all come from?? And why does the sun rise in the east and set in the west...every day...day after day.

You are right and Duterte himself acknowledges it.
As I said, I believe that deep down inside, he can’t escape the EVIDENCE that God exists. In fact, he seems to be contradicting himself at one point. This paragraph from the article shows it:

His issues are MORAL, not evidential. He cannot accept the Christian God, that’s all.
It would be awful if he was struck by lightning.
He won’t accept any proof because the proof is all around him and he denies it- not only in nature is it, but also in historical eye witness accounts- It’s available in the fossil record- it’s available in microbiolgy- etc etc etc- He evidently rejects all forms of proof- He is a liar- God Himself could stand before him and do miracle after miracle, and the man would likely accuse God of trickery because the man’s mind is made up- He’s not looking for proof- He’s looking only to insult anyone that presents the truth to him by denying yet more proof of God’s existence- His heart was evidently hardened against God when he suffered abuse-
I would say being sexually abused by a ‘holy father’ would cause me to question the existence of God.
Torah reports even after God showed Himself to the whole Israelite people in the desert, they still molded golden calf after Moses had left the camp.
What’s changed?
The very fact that he is even talking about it sends the clear message that the Holy Spirit has Duterte firmly in his grasp right now and is calling him to come to repentance through Jesus Christ. As for the proof of God’s existence, one need look know further than the 100% accuracy of the scriptures... both the historical accuracy as well as the accuracy of fulfilled prophesy.
Duterte needs to look around and ask this question “Do I believe that in the beginning, a rock.... Or do I believe that in the beginning, God”....

More than likely due to the poor representation by some who claim the Christian faith, you can’t fault him too harshly.
He may have sealed his fate when he called Mary a bitch in a predominantly Catholic country. I’m positive he sealed his eternal fate.
As for believing, he should listen to Archie Bunker. “Faith is when you believe in something nobody in his right mind would believe in.”. That’s why it’s called “faith”.
