Perhaps we should be looking for life on planets in habitable zones with perfect diamond ring eclipse generating moons.
Could be a signpost.
You can't be serious.
Mere absence of mention would not work. Genesis ---like the whole corpus of Scripture --- makes no mention of, for instance, the spherical shape of the Earth or the existence of the Western Hemisphere. Non-mention does not imply non-existence.
I was pleasantly surprised when my biological psychology text opened up with pretty much the same info. Never came out and said it was intelligent design but it was inferred.
To accept this premise (that Earth is unique or extremely rare), one must discount the existence of that percent of reliably sighted UFOs that are unexplainable by earthly technology. Similarly discounted must be the reports of alien bodies being seen at crash sites and on military bases. Further discounted must be eye-witness accounts of extra-terrestrial craft seen close-up by personnel. Of course, and here I find myself contradicting myself, the origin of such things need not be from an Earth clone.
Time to us and time to God are two different things.
“These calculations provided very convincing evidence that ‘light’ was an electromagnetic wave.”
Just my two cents, but the very first thing God said to create everything was “Let there be light.” But the sun and moon and stars weren’t created until later. I think that first “light” was energy. And using E=MCC, matter was created. Sort of like the Big Bang. (Well - maybe exactly like the Big Bang.)
Speaking of physics. I’ve also wondered if God, when making up the rules said “Okay - so gases are light, liquids are more dense, and solids are the most dense.” But, after the first winter and all the lakes died off and killed all the stuff He had growing in them because the ice sank to the bottom, He had to go back to the drawing board? Probably not, seeing as He doesn’t make mistakes, but.....?
Amen. That is the keystone to the whole statistical arch. Neglect to include Our Lord,6th and the whole lashup collapses.
I already did.
Parallel example. God says homosexuality is a perversion and cross dressing is a perversion. Did He completely forget to mention transgenderism? So is that OK?
