Why have several Eastern European nations been so adamant against taking in Muslim migrants? Most recently, when Polish lawmaker Dominik Tarczyński was asked earlier this month how many "refugees" Poland has taken in, he flatly responded: "Zero."
When the British interviewer, whose nation has taken in millions of Muslim migrants, scoffed, "And you're proud of that?," he said: "We will not receive even one Muslim, because this is what we promised [to voters] ... this is why our government was elected; this is why Poland is so safe, this is why we have not had even one terror attack."
Considering that "[t]housands of Catholics formed a human chain along the borders of Poland" late last year "to pray for peace and 'against the Islamisation of Europe,'" it is clear that the Polish government is acting on behalf of the people.
What accounts for this staunchly anti-Islamic response? The answer rests in history. Unlike most Western European nations, which, thanks to their geographical proximity, have for centuries been out of the reach of and thus have forgotten all about Islam, Eastern Europeans are intimately acquainted with it.
Indeed, an event that occurred this week in history sheds much light on the current situation. On July 14, 1683, the largest Islamic army ever to invade European territory which is saying much, considering the thousands of invasions preceding it since the eighth century came and surrounded Vienna, the heart of the Holy Roman Empire and de facto nemesis of Islam.
Some 200,000 Muslim combatants, under the leadership of the Ottomans the one state in nearly fourteen centuries of Islamic history most dedicated to and founded on the principles of jihad invaded under the same rationale that so-called "radical" groups, such as the Islamic State,

well.... yeah.
I mean when they come and kill and rape all over, it leaves a bad taste.
Hoorah! for Jan Sobieski and the Winged Hussars!
HIP HIP HOORAY!
HIP HIP HOORAY!
HIP HIP HOORAY!
Once again Poland stands as a bastion of civilization and courage.
They should really make a large budget movie in the scale of Lawrence of Arabia about the BATTLE OF VIENNA.
I recommend Mel Gibson for the project.
It isn’t just that Western Europe forgot, but that it has intentionally shoved its head up its own ass under the influence of crap Left wing ideology.
This is suicide, not ignorance.
This is certainly worth saying.
But it makes me sad that so many people don’t know history. The movement of peoples is a big deal and it is a constant throughout history.
Invading armies tend to kill the men and rape the women so that the next generation is a bit less native. Look at Europe today. Look at the rapes in Scandinavia. The old pattern repeats.
Sometimes the story is literally about an invading army. The Ottomans at Vienna in 1683 is right on target. But sometimes it’s a lot more than an army. Part of why the Roman Empire “fell” is because masses of people moved in, speaking their own language, following their own ways, ignoring Roman law, and just refusing to assimilate. Look at the US today. Illegal immigrants leave their homeland, come here, and try to change us so that we can be just like their homeland. The old pattern repeats.
People are ignorant of history, and in part I think this is deliberate. The Powers That Be would prefer that you learn these lessons all over again — right up close and personal.
Communism oddly protected them and their history from the rot of decades of post-modern, leftist, crony-capitalist and globalist indoctrination.
God works in mysterious ways.
“well.... yeah.
I mean when they come and kill and rape all over, it leaves a bad taste.”
Centuries under the yoke of subjugation.
Thank God, the West had great men like Charlemagne, Charles Martel, et al.
God bless Poland and the Poles.
9/11/1683.
Ottoman’s defeated at the Gates of Vienna by the Polish.
I knew someone from Hungary that definitely hadn’t forgotten the Ottoman Empire
One's clueless neighbors fail to see it because they conflate Christ and Christianity with Mohammed and Islam are blinded to the danger posed by the latter.
Civilizational suicide, never thought I would see it.
It’s been the goal of those who set Cultural Marxism in motion and they made great strides creating useful idiots. And useful idiots make their own gravy as the dog food people used to say.
And then there is probably the biggest mistake of that sort ever made, at least in modern times.
Jimmy Carter considered Khomeini a 'holy man' and believed every crisis could be resolved with diplomacy.
FATHER OF THE IRANIAN REVOLUTION
Carter's ambassador to the UN, Andrew Young, said "Khomeini will eventually be hailed as a saint." Carter's Iranian ambassador, William Sullivan, said, "Khomeini is a Gandhi-like figure." Carter adviser James Bill proclaimed in a Newsweek interview on February 12, 1979 that Khomeini was not a mad mujahid, but a man of "impeccable integrity and honesty." The shah was terrified of Carter. He told his personal confidant, "Who knows what sort of calamity he [Carter] may unleash on the world?"
On a wider angle note, I think Islam is the Beast religion of Revelation. There are too many parallels between their Mahdi/Isa pair and Christianity’s Antichrist/False Prophet pair. They’re also all about beheading, which the Bible prophesies, and they would have an instant 1 billion murderous, bloodthirsty followers. There’s a reason Islam is so prominently in the news in these End Times, being the focal point of almost all mass murder and mayhem throughout the world.
I traveled to Poland via bus from Belgium in the late 90s. They are very strict with their border (guards with dogs). Some truckers passing thru have to wait up to three days for approval to pass.
I loved it there. Beautiful country.
