LOS ANGELES (AP) The Church of Scientology and one of its former members have settled a lawsuit she filed nearly a decade ago alleging she was forced to work long hours as a pre-teen and was coerced to have an abortion at 17.

Dammit. Miscavige escapes justice again.

Good for Laura, though. She now has some small measure of vindication, but she could have had so much more. I think she could have broken the back of the cult.

Their public organizations are still empty morgues, so I guess the ad campaign has failed.

Beyond Belief, by Jenna Miscavige Hill (niece of David Miscavige), is a great book to read. It talks about her life growing up in Scientology, how she was kept separate from her parents as a young child, and how hard it was to break free from Scientology. I highly recommend it.
