The Gay Elephant in the Sacristy

Posted on Saturday, August 11, AD 2018 by Donald R. McClarey

In the wake of the McCarrick revelations many clerics have taken pen in hand to see if they can sucker, yet again, the Laity.  They write gravely of review panels, protecting minors and everything under the sun except the one fact that every sentient Catholic knows:  our clergy have been heavily infiltrated by the Lavender Mafia and that wretched group helped propel McCarrick to his cardinal’s cap and protected him from any revelation of his misdeeds by other knowing high ranking clerics, who obviously either feared the Lavender Mafia, were part of it, or had misdeeds of their own to protect.  These evil men care not a whit for the Laity or the Faith.  For them the Church is simply a host which they feed off of as the evil parasites they truly are.  Canon Lawyer Ed Peters, at his blog In the Light of the Law dissects the latest appalling effort by a cleric to lull the rubes:

Homosexual acts committed by or between clerics—even among those presumably able to consent—are at the root, the very root, of the sexual misconduct and cover-up crisis exposed by the McCarrick scandal. Who on earth does not yet know that yet?

So my jaw dropped—which takes some doing these days—my jaw dropped when Msgr. Thomas Guarino, in an interesting-ish essay over at Catholic World Report, while calling for better responses against clergy sexual misconduct, wrote: “I speak here of crimes, not consensual adult relationships which, while sinful infractions against the commandments and the promise of celibacy, can be—and for centuries have been—salutarily treated with confession, penance and spiritual direction.”

My.  Jaw.  Dropped.

Where to begin?

First, Guarnino’s claim that “consensual adult relationships” (a tired euphemism for gravely sinful conduct, but one sufficient to include homosexual acts by clergy) have not been regarded as canonical crimes for centuries, is flatly wrong. In fact, it has only been in the last 35 years, since the advent of the 1983 Code, that such “consensual adult relationships” among clergy have not been treated as crimes under canon law!

1917 CIC 2359 § 2 stated:

“If [clerics] engage in a delict against the sixth precept of the Decalogue with a minor below the age of sixteen, or engage in adultery, debauchery, bestiality, sodomy, pandering, [or] incest with blood-relatives or affines in the first degree, they are suspended, declared infamous, and are deprived of any office, benefice, dignity, responsibility, if they have such, whatsoever, and in more serious cases, they are to be deposed.”

Now exactly what part of “debauchery” or “sodomy”, consensual or otherwise, was not a canonical crime per the Canon 2359? And given an hour, moreover, any competent researcher could prove centuries-old roots for Canon 2359 simply by checking Gasparri’s fontes for the canon.

Contrary to Guarino’s claim, then, it was only with the dilution that Canon 2359 suffered when it re-appeared as Canon 1395 of the 1983 Code that the express and long-standing criminalization of homosexual acts by clergy was blurred or lost.

Go here to read the rest.  Until clerics of our Church take serious steps to rid their ranks of the Homosexual Infestation, their pious protestations should be regarded as the lies they are and treated with the contempt they warrant.

Somewhere in the Bible, it says that all will be revealed before the Day of the Lord.

I believe we are experiencing the uncovering of the Mystery of Iniquity.

McCarrick and his lot can no longer hide.

But what these wolves in clerical clothing have forgotten is that such activity can still be a legal crime. It is also can be subject to civil suits.

AND, if the hierarchy is so inclined can STILL be a Canonical crime based even on the loosey goosey Canon in the 83 revision.

The lay people, along with victims and upright clergy should go for these men's throats where possible

The Catholic priests sexual abuse matter, has always been reported as child abuse in general terms, without mention of who are most likely to be victims. It is rarely noted that homosexual priests are abusing boys and young men, in far larger number than are abusing females.

The denizens of the Vatican Swamp understand money. The faithful, who have largely been taken for granted, should stop feeding the collections and various appeals. Then, and only then, will Francis and his coconspiritors take notice.

Yes. Another way that blame is shifted/denied is to refer to the abusers as pedophiles, and then to claim that pedophilia is rare among homosexuals.

The John Jay Report showed that the most-abused age/sex in the Catholic abuse scandal were 12 year old males.

From the link:

The John Jay report found that 81% of the victims were male; and of all the victims, 22% were younger than age 10, 51% were between the ages of 11 and 14, and 27% were between the ages of 15 and 17 years.

These days, most 12 year old males are post-pubescent, so the primary problem with "pedophile priests" is not pedophilia, but a homosexual attraction to early post-pubescent males. You can call that hebephilia or a few other things, but it is definitely homosexual.

Well said.

If the Catholic Church is finding that so many priests have sexual problems, particularly homosexuality, it would be good for them to “clean house” and deal with this.

I have some distant relatives, who had been devout Catholics, who left the church, and refuse to give donations to any Catholic organization, such as Catholic Charities. This ongoing issue with homosexual priests could sink the Catholic Church as we have known it.

Whatever happens within the church, at this point I think it is widely understood by the public that leaving your child alone with ANY priest is risky. The supply of fresh, innocent young victims has been mostly cut off. That should make the priesthood a less attractive profession to molesters.

McCarrick is a PR disaster for the Lavender Mafia because it is very clear that 1) he is a homosexual who engaged in acts with adult men, and 2) he also molested minor males. We’ve been told for decades that this simply isn’t the case, though it was always clear this IS the case. These aren’t pedophiles molesting young children; they are usually homosexuals targeting young men.

Just read this long article. It is excellent...making so many interesting and thoughtful points.

Here's my favorite (I am sure the author and publisher will not mind my adding one more small excerpt)...

It is certainly true that some Catholic traditionalists--precisely because they have been unconstrained by the secular cultural imperative of evading the elephant--have been willing to point to one or another feature of it. "You cannot blame people," as Rod Dreher of National Review put it in one of his many plain-spoken contributions to the discussion, "for asking if there's something about the culture of homosexuality in the Catholic priesthood that fosters this phenomenon. . . . [I]t is not homophobic to ask." Writing from a very different corner of the Catholic world, Germain Grisez--one of the Church's leading moral theologians in the United States--has been equally blunt: "The bishops and those who speak for them," as he wrote recently, "should acknowledge honestly that most clerical sex crimes that have come to light have been seductions of adolescents and young men by homosexual priests."
It appears that this problem rest entirely on the shoulders of the gay mafia within the Church. If it were not for the gay mafia, even those rare non-homosexual molesters would be expose.

Doubtful. There is the money and the old gay priests still have access to young seminarians and priests...and each other.
