Cardinal Bergoglio Stonewalled Sex Abuse Victim in Argentina

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (ChurchMilitant.com) - Pope Francis, currently sporting a zero-tolerance policy in Rome, was known more for his zero-transparency policy concerning clerical sex abuse as the archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In 1989, Sebastián Cuattromo, a student at a Catholic school in Buenos Aires, was the victim of homosexual predation by a teacher at the school, Br. Fernando Enrique Picciochi, S.M. In 2002, when Cuattromo sought help in seeking justice from the diocese then headed by Cdl. Jorge Bergoglio, his vicar, Fr. Mario Poli, stonewalled Cuattromo for seven years.

One of the first acts that Bergoglio would do as Pope Francis was to make Poli the archbishop of Buenos Aires.

Brother Picciochi, a teacher at the Marianista de Caballito School in the archdiocese of Buenos Aires, was convicted in 2012 for homosexual predation of multiple students from the school. In 1991, the Marianist superior, Luis Casalá, admitted that he was informed of Picciochi's homosexual abuse of Cuattromo two years prior and termed it "an act of aggression."

Following revelations of Cuattromo's abuse, Picciochi was sent for evaluation and deemed "normal, not homosexual." He was then transferred to a different diocese. In 2000, Picciochi was charged with "repeated corruption of minors" involving sexual abuse but fled to the United States. When Cuattromo sought help seeking justice in 2002 from the archdiocese, Cdl. Bergoglio's personal secretary, Fr. Martin Garcia Aguirre, and his vicar, Fr. Mario Poli, offered no assistance to Cuattromo whatsoever.

Seven years later, Picciochi was arrested in the United States and extradited to Argentina in 2010. In a book published that same year titled On Heaven and Earth, Cdl. Bergoglio claimed he never dealt with a single case of clerical sex abuse.

Speaking of clerical abuse of minors, Bergoglio said, "Now, when this happens, you can never turn a blind eye. You cannot be in a position of power and destroy the life of another person. In my diocese, it never happened to me.”

Tweet The cardinal went on to say, "A bishop called me once by phone to ask me what to do in a situation like this and I told him to take away the priest's faculties, not permit him to exercise his priestly ministry again and to initiate a canonical trial in the tribunal that corresponds to that diocese."

Picciochi was a member of a religious order but, nonetheless, was convicted in 2012 of molesting multiple students at the Catholic school in Bergoglio's diocese.

Father Poli, who turned a blind eye and deaf ear to Cuattromo, the 13-year-old victim of Picciochi's homosexual predation, was later elevated to the level of archbishop of Buenos Aires in March 2013 by Bergoglio when he became Pope that same month.

The same homosexual/pedophile mafia that forced Bennie out and installed Frankie is now much too powerful to be taken down. That's why it's absolutely ludicrous to think that getting Frankie to resign is the first step in fixing the predator priest problem. The homosexual/pedophile mafia are now the gatekeepers of the catholic church. You don't advance without their consent. The next pope will not be installed without their consent. The catholic church is now utterly corrupted and rotten to the core. There is no fixing it.

“The gay mafia got Benedict to resign and is giving full support to bergoglio.”

How did they get Benedict to resign?

The ultimate fix is Jesus Christ.

He's had 2000 years to fix the problem. That's how long the catholic church has been riddled with debauchery and scandal. I'm guessing He washed his hands of this mess right from the beginning.

Google it and pick your favorite scenario. It's my understanding that the homosexual/pedophile mafia stymied Bennie at every turn and he finally gave up in frustration. Look at how McCarrick flaunted Bennie's sanctions. So it appears there was outright rebellion at the highest levels. It was Julius Caesar, but without the literal stabbing.

Right, it has been going on since the Church stopped Priests from marrying, so the $ would go to Rome and not their families.
Seems they forgot,"Sell what thou hast & come follow Me." By allowing Priests to marry, does anyone think a married, with children, straight Priest would willing be involved in a pedophile cover up? Even under duress, there would be leaks.

BTW, I am a religious person but not an active RC member for reasons known to God. BTW, my wife is Jewish, no affect on my beliefs, except one. Priests should be allowed to marry. She points out that in Christ's time, no one would follow a Rabbi if not married, usually in their teens, because they would not be respected by the community. SIC. I bet Christ was married.ALL JMO

He caved. It's lonely at the top, but it's even lonelier when you're surrounded by people who want you to fail and you have hardly anyone in your corner. Bennie didn't have the fighting spirit that President Trump has. And President Trump is in the same position...lots of enemies and not enough allies in DC. The catholic church needed a Donald Trump after JPII died and they got a Jimmy Carter. And now they have a Barak Obama.

You think I am siding with Frankie? You sound like you have an axe to grind.

It would make you look more favorable as a person if you didn't lump everyone else in with the Judas.

A little touchy, are we? I was just making an observation. It had nothing to do with you.

You forgot that Christ is the Head of the Church. Many visionaries have been sent ahead of this crisis to promise that the Church (and the Immaculate Heart of Mary) would triumph in the end. Besides that, we still have many faithful priests and Bishops like Cardinal Vigano to lead the way.

Christ is the Head of the Church not the Roman sect. Maybe if you guys turned to Christ rather than visionaries and Mary, a created human like the rest of us, you would be in better shape.

The entire rest of the world outside the Catholic Church "has been riddled with debauchery and scandal" for all those 2,000 years also, as well as the group consisting of all the people who lived during the many years before Christ created His Church, ever since the first sin was committed.

Did He wash His hands of all that mess as well?

He will never wash His hands of His own. We are eternally imprinted on His hands. However the day is soon coming when He will wash His hands of those who reject Him and His offer of salvation. That will be a great and terrible day. Got Jesus?
