T Y 4 posting. Bookmarked for later, but the first link I chose: https://romalocutaest.com/2018/09/13/of-mccarrick-and-past-and-future-conclaves/ was very interesting, and well written.

(excerpt) “Viganò’s testimonial asserted that Sodano played a key role in defending Marcial Maciel, the founder of the Legionaries of Christ who was later revealed to be a serial sexual abuser. The archbishop speculated that “if Sodano had protected Maciel, as seems certain, there is no reason why he wouldn’t have done so for McCarrick, who according to many had the financial means to influence decisions.”

No evidence, or even firsthand knowledge is presented by Viganò for this supposition, though McCarrick’s abilities as a prolific fundraiser were well-known.

While McCarrick was able to produce sizable donations for everything from the Papal Foundation to individual projects in dioceses around the world, the financial support he offered could also be quite personal.

“When he would visit Rome, Cardinal McCarrick was well-known for handing out envelopes of money to different bishops and cardinals around the curia to thank them for their work,” a curial cardinal recently told CNA. “Where these ‘honoraria’ came from or what they were for, exactly, was never clear – but many accepted them anyway.”

What’s with the quotes around “Abp” Vigano? Does Novus Ordo Watch claim that Vigano isn’t really an archbishop? If so, it makes Novus Ordo Watch seem like a crackpot organization.

“Moral corruption does not cause loss of office, only heresy does that.”

They’re sedevacantists who think that all ordinations under the revised Missal are invalid. If they were self-consistent, they would refer to him as “Fr Vignano,” since he was ordained to the priesthood in 1968.

Except the article’s author *is* consistent. He is addressing these men as the Novus Ordo church addresses them: Cardinal, Archbishop, Bishop, etc. If the Novus Ordo church referred to Vigano as “Fr”, he would have kept the title (without the quotes).

They are indeed a “crackpot organization.” Extremist and untrustworthy, spreading error and confusion.

I have no problem with Catholic doctrine. My discomfort is over a tiny group of miscreants who claim Church patriarchy and tradition for themselves, always bitter and whining about religion, venomously tearing down their co-religionists, uneducated yet always acting superior, who are so untouched by faith they cannot distinguish between Catherine of Siena and Ann Barnhardt, and thinking they are assured heaven because they make the Sign of the Cross at the perfect angle with the precise number of fingers touching the forehead. If a person is a self-centered, vain, nitpicking fool, the fault is his, not the Vatican 2 Council.

Of course you have problem with “extremist” and true Catholic doctrine about the Jews. You just displayed it. And because you do, you also have a problem with the Catholic hierarchy that taught it prior to Vatican II. Your name calling and ad hominems towards others do not change those facts.
