My family was “touched” by the Catholic Church 30 years ago. It’s about time our pleas have been heard. It was always swept under the rug.
God has finally heard my prayers. I left the church then and tried to convince friends that it was an evil place for children. Back in the 70’s being gay was not accepted. If a man was gay then he became a priest and went where the men and boys were. I am bitter and I pray to G-d that those whom have abused children will be punished in my lifetime and by G-d.

I am angered and revulsed at the very thought of a child being sexually molested. But it is unjust to say "the church is an evil place for children."

I am 66 years old and have dealt with Catholic people, parishioners, schoolchildren, nuns and priests all my life, and never met one person who was molested. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm saying it is not a characteristic of the church at large.

After the AG Shapiro released the Grand Jury report on the Catholic Dioceses of Pennsylvania, I looked up the public list of those who had "credibly allegations" against them, and there were just two from the county where I grew up in over a period of 70 years, and neither of them was a pedo.

Of course "two" is two damn many, but I am in a position to say there were many more both in the Boy Scouts and in the Public Schools.

To slime the whole church with such talk --- talk which damages innocent priests and people --- is wrongful and unjust.
