Vatican City, October 11, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) Fourteen small groups of members of the Synod on Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment discussed the Instrumentum Laboris (IL), or working document, guiding the Synods deliberations this week.
Divided by language groups, there were four English-language conversations, three French, two Spanish, one German, and one Portuguese. For many of the participants, these were foreign, or second, languages.
The reports of these sessions were largely difficult to read; most were verbose and poorly organized. However, certain themes and tendencies were clear.
First, the English-speaking groups were concerned that the IL had underemphasized faith in Christ and the Churchs teaching office. One of the English-speaking groups noted that the IL did not mention chastity.
Second, of all the groups, only the one moderated by pro-LGBT Cardinal Cupich explicitly questioned the Churchs emphasis on the traditional nuclear family. Cupichs group went so far as to suggest that the Church does not accompany young people in unusual familial circumstances.
Third, as expected, there were some rumblings about updating the Churchs teaching on sexuality, particularly from the French-speaking Group B, the German-speaking Group, and Cardinal Maradiagas Spanish-speaking Group A.
Maradiagas group posited that the young have the right to make mistakes and encouraged pastors to accompany the young without reproof, saying an empathetic Church is one that accompanies despite errors, without imposing, prohibiting, or demanding...
Fourth, most of the Groups were interested in the role the internet and social media play in the lives of youth people although two Groups pointed out that not all young people have access to the internet. Several were quite concerned about the digitalization of culture.
Fifth, at least one Group felt that the IL overemphasized Western concerns. A few Groups discussed the differing circumstances of young people in the

Pastors are supposed to accompany the youths while they make sexual mistakes?
So if one is never ever supposed to mention the Church’s moral teaching to people, or the concepts of sin and repentance, it all becomes a dead letter, but I guess that is the intention...
Fatima visionary predicted ‘final battle’ would be over marriage, family
In that letter we find written: The final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about Marriage and the Family. Don’t be afraid, she added, because whoever works for the sanctity of Marriage and the Family will always be fought against and opposed in every way, because this is the decisive issue. Then she concluded: nevertheless, Our Lady has already crushed his head.
Cardinal Caffarra added that speaking again with John Paul II, you could feel that the family was the core, since it has to do with the supporting pillar of creation, the truth of the relationship between man and woman, between the generations. If the foundational pillar is damaged, the entire building collapses and we’re seeing this now, because we are right at this point and we know it.
Encouraging young radicals to ignore Church teaching will not restore this Church; other denominations that tried this now face empty churches. We’re already heading in the same direction, and this will hasten, not delay it. Without a strong foundation based on a fear of Hell, there is no reason for young people to get out of bed on Sunday.
Yep. The world doesn't need a church to tell it that it's ok to do whatever you want. Satan has that job covered 24/7.
This Church has just fallen apart, and the deterioration is speeding up. Not to be doom & gloom, but the “vitals” by which parishes are measured (baptisms, weddings, etc.) are through the floor. Benedict XVI was right when decades before, he predicted that the result of Vatican II would be a much smaller Church - most of the physical structures would be shuttered and sold, and small communities would keep the faith alive.
