During my time on earth I've found the "youth" to be unwise, gullible and quite stupid.
The clerical sexual abuse scandal occured because the Church WAS welcoming to homosexuals.
It appears to be so.
It is a tactic of the Left to define and divide people by as many characteristics as possible, to exacerbate identity politics so as to more easily control populations.
As I recall, hate the sin, love the sinner has been a Christian motto for some time.
The idea that sexual proclivities can not be controlled is a fairly new one.

Even with “Three Score and fourteen years” on the ranch, I’m still at times unwise and gullible. Being half-smart on a good day, I have improved a bit.
All that said, it occurs to me that, contrary to our innate knowledge, some of us want an authority figure, whether parent-boss-priest, to say of any given behavior or habit “it’s all right, go ahead and do X-Y-Z.”
So at some unknown point in time, perhaps a presumably benevolent churchman said “it’s OK” and in so doing, cracked open a can of worms.
