Trump: I Don’t Like ‘People Who Say I Pray for You When They Know That That’s Not So’

(CNSNews.com) – One day after the Senate acquitted him on two articles of impeachment, President Donald Trump opened his speech at the 68th Annual National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday by lashing out at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the Democrats for trying to impeach and remove him from office.

“As everybody knows, my family, our great country and your president has been put through a terrible ordeal by some very dishonest and corrupt people. They have done everything possible to destroy us and by so doing, very badly hurt our nation. They know what they are doing is wrong, but they put themselves far ahead of our great country,” he said.

The Gospel of Matthew 18:15-17 comes to mind as these 'hypocrites' claim to pray for President Trump when they do not.

In the National Prayer Breakfast, refers to those who sin such as saying "I am praying for you." The Gospel of Matthew comes to mind: Matthew 18:15-17

Matt 18:15 “If your brother* sins [against you], go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have won over your brother. Matt

18:16 If he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, so that ‘every fact may be established on the testimony of two or three witnesses.’

Matt 18:17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church.* If he refuses to listen even to the church, then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector.

When President Trump refers to "people who 'claim' to pray for you, but do not, then Matthew 18:15-17 comes to mind:

I’m glad the president is so frank in his assessment of what we all know to be the case.

The one perspective I would like to see him add is this — yes he went through an ordeal and it shouldn’t happen again. But it has happened already to many others, and we have not come out with any public declarations of victory. We have to be satisfied with the idea that our own smaller (but no less hurtful) assaults from the left will be dealt with in the fullness of time and by a higher court.

In my own case I have been unfairly blacklisted and subjected to false accusations for pretty much an entire lifetime, and for the same basic set of reasons — I dared to be good in an evil world. And it did not end so decisively or so well for me. Nor can I realistically expect that it ever will, living in a country entirely under the possession of demons (as you’ve perhaps noticed looking north).

So my redemption and vindication can only come if God ordains it in the future, probably not in this world.

The president had an ordeal of three and a half years. There is something a little more than slightly Biblical about that. I’ve been going at it for forty years. Another significant number? You bet your life.

This news conference Trump had at 12 pm today. I hear even those on Fox call it a revenge time... and more.
I want to say what it was.. (I watched it all)
It was a THANK YOU to all who helped him in the mess of the last 3 years.

If I tell someone I will pray for them or for a family member or for a friend, I try to do it right then so they can hear the prayer.

I enjoyed the conference that he had and kept waiting for him to get around to his family. (Which he did at the very end.)

Pres Trump and his family have been rung through the wringer the past 4 years. he didnt have to volunteer for this job.. he had a very nice life. he felt compelled to do what he knew he could accomplish, and i dont know another person who could do what Trump has.

The media and the left fall in line with the satan that is explained in the bible. they have no inner convictions.. no truth in them.. they are void of truth and hate to be in the presence of that light.. they want to stamp it all out.

I admit that I have "a plank before my own eye".

Matthew 7:1-5

“Stop judging, that you may not be judged. For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.

I stopped somewhere after Mass today to get something to eat. I discussed President Trump "ranting" at the news conference for an hour (Thursday or Wednesday). The personal at the restaurant was very sympathetic to Trump, saying "he had the right to with what was done to him."

I was given a free desert. I was also wearing a Knights of Columbus t-shirt.

Loving your enemy comes to mind. Loving your neighbor comes to mind.

I agree with President Trump. Nancy Pelosi was judging his faith which drives me crazy. We are called to the witness stand, not the judge’s bench when it comes to the issue of faith and sharing God’s love. There is nothing I hate more than someone telling others who is and isn’t a Christian. My judgement is with God, not people of this earth. If you want to judge my behavior (sin) that’s fine.
