I was just joking. A little levity is always good in these stressful times. I read the article and it is fascinating. I would love to know any of those languages. I know the passion was in Aramaic. I know not nearly enough of the languages and the times to make even an educated guess.

There are a few folks on this board whose names come to mind who could probably do a pretty good job of making an educated guess

LOL. I know, I was just trying to push another response out of you, but levity is good.

Anyway, reversing things, the picture I saw in the reference section finally sunk in. It could not have been Masoretic Text -— nor Aramaic Hebrew before it, nor Paleo Hebrew before that used to etch the second set.

So here I am...

Here’s hoping some on here can narrow it down before Paleo Hebrew.

Aramaic was not a written language as I understand it. That’s why the NT or at least large or it was not written in aramaic

I am way out of my league with this conversation.

In fact I am going to poke around google just to catch up to the languages/texts you mention.

I do not even know which of these is a spoken language or written language or both.

I’ve looked it up there and several other places.

Given the time of Moses’ birth to death and the Sinaitic inscriptions that predate Paleo Hebrew, and that Paleo Hebrew was definitely in use from the 11th to 5th century B.C. it would have to be proto Sinaitic or some offshoot of the Egyptian hieroglyphic system.

One thing is for certain: the second set was not etched with Aramaic, Aramaic Hebrew or Masoretic Text with its diacritic markings.

Yeah, it’s like I said, it can’t be Aramaic, Aramauc Hebrew, or Masoretic Text. Those are ruled out.

Then again, parts of Daniel are in Aramaic. But nevertheless, that time period of Aramaic in Daniel’s time down to Jesus’ time, and even Aramaic Hebrew in Ezra’s time with the MT that followed it, were all long after Moses’ time.
