Antifa Says It’s Fighting Fascists. It Just Might Be Helping to Re-Elect Donald Trump.
The Daily Beast ^ | September 11, 2017 | Ronald Radosh

Posted on 09/10/2017 9:46:41 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

On Sunday, Aug. 27, a “rally against hate” was scheduled in Berkeley, California, by a small group of relatively conservative Christians, led by Amber Cummings, a transgender Trump supporter and a leader of a group called Patriot Prayer, and a Japanese-American named Joey Gibson.

Their event never took place. The left-wing group known as antifa, a contraction of “anti-fascist,” showed up in large numbers. Videos shows its members pouncing on one of the rally supporters, knocking him to the ground, and preparing to beat him with sticks and rocks. The Washington Post reported:

“A pepper-spray-wielding Trump supporter was smacked to the ground with homemade shields. Another was attacked by five black-clad antifa members, each windmilling kicks and punches into a man desperately trying to protect himself. A conservative group leader retreated for safety behind a line of riot police as marchers chucked water bottles, shot off pepper spray and screamed, ‘Fascist go home!’”

There’s no consensus of what antifa stands for, or if their tactics will achieve their stated goals. Is it, as leftist professor Todd Gitlin asserts, simply a “particular strand of aggressive left-wing activism,” that is a “defensive response to the growing presence of right-wing extremism,” or is it, as liberal editor and columnist Josh Marshall writes, a group which empowers “violence over law… the surest route to the destruction of democracy and dictatorship?”

Many trace the group’s origins back to the antifascists who fought Mussolini in 1920’s Italy and the communist action groups that engaged in street fighting with Hitler’s SA Brownshirts in the early 1930s in Weimar Germany. Indeed, antifa’s ultimate justification for their use of violence is that era. Resistance, historian Mark Bray argued in The Washington Post, should “simply be flipped on in a crisis. Once the Nazi and fascist parties gained control of government, it was too late to pull the emergency brake.”

Writing in The Nation, antifa activist Natasha Lennard urges liberals not to criticize them for being “willing to put their bodies on the line against neo-Nazis.” Seeing fascism in the U.S. “in Trump’s ascendance,” Lennard eschews “polite protest,” favoring in its place making sure that “all far-right events will be bombarded and besieged.”

Comparing herself and her comrades directly to “the international militant brigades fighting Franco in Spain, the Red Front Fighters’ League in Germany who were fighting Nazis since the party’s formation in the 1920s,” and the members of the “43 Group in England fighting Oswald Mosley’s British Union of Fascists” in street brawls in London, she emphasizes that they all depended upon “physical combat.”

That call to violence—somehow supposedly defensive even when the antifas initiate it—leaves little to discuss with moderate liberals like Peter Beinart, Todd Gitlin, Devin Foley, and the editors of The Washington Post. A widely circulated call to arms on the anarchist site “It’s Going Down” in December dismissed union leaders, politicians of the left, and NGOs, declaring that the only thing stopping Trump’s march to fascism was “the blockaders. The people in ski masks and in the streets. The ones on the front lines fighting with cops. The people attacking, defending, organizing, building, and growing.”

As Josh Meyer reported in Politico, back in early 2016, the FBI warned during the Obama presidency that antifa, composed of “anarchist extremists,” had become confrontational and dangerous and were often the main instigators of violence at public rallies. Both sides now come to announced events ready for violent confrontation. The bureau noted a June 2016 rally in Sacramento where antifa groups caused “a riot after which at least 10 people were hospitalized, some with stab wounds.”

Antifa’s attitude is the same taken by the German Communist Party (KPD) before Hitler’s ascension to power. The German Reds had the slogan “After Hitler, Us,” and used their energy and propaganda not against the Nazis, but against the mainstream socialists, organized in the Social-Democratic Party (SPD).

Calling the SPD “social fascists,” the Communists argued that to give them any credibility would fool the working classes into supporting them when in fact the SPD’s opposition to an immediate communist revolution meant that the Nazis would win power. Despite pleas of many on the left, including Leon Trotsky, who had fled to Mexico to escape Stalin’s henchmen, the KPD leadership refused to join in a united front against the Nazi Party, and even voted with the Nazis against seats in the Prussian parliament for any German Socialist Party members.

Bray knows this, and writes that “while Hitler was planning a war against the Left, socialists and communists focused on fighting each other.” Indeed, as he acknowledges, communist leaders called the Social-Democrats fascists “with a socialist phraseology.” Yet he argues that now, in the Trump era, what is needed are “street confrontations” since—as in the 1930s—“the liberal playbook for stopping the advance of fascism failed.”

Despite this history, today’s antifa—which takes the name from the KPD’s street fighting group established in 1932, Antifaschitische Aktion—acts the same way toward centrists and liberals who reject their commitment to violence. Its members have also frequently assaulted photographers and members of the press seeking to document their public violence.

It should be apparent, but evidently is not to antifa members and leaders, that the United States, despite Donald Trump being president, is not in a comparable situation to that of Weimar Germany on the eve of Hitler’s ascension to power, or to Nazi Germany after the passage of the Enabling Act, which in 1933 gave Hitler the power to pass laws without the participation of the Reichstag. After this, Hitler and the Nazi Party assumed total control and established a one-party state without any political liberties.

Antifa members should read historians of Nazi Germany, like Laurie Marhoefer of the University of Washington, who writes that anti-fascist street fighters who greeted a Nazi rally with violence thought that they had won by disrupting a rally and fighting its speakers back in 1927. They sent a message that “Fascism was not welcome.” But instead, “events like the rally in Wedding [a Berlin district] helped the Nazis build a dictatorship.” The Reds got media attention, but it led to escalating street violence, all of which helped the Nazis, who painted themselves “as the victims of a pugnacious, lawless left.”

Leftist violence in the 1930s in Germany led many to support the Nazis in the hope they would put an end to the continuing street brawls and violence. Today, the antifa left may even help to get Donald Trump reelected in 2020.

My daughter was in Portland today fighting the communists.

And just in case there is anyone, including some liberal lurkers, who doubts that they and their comrades are in fact communists...

To begin, let me start with this...

President Trump, Aug. 14, 2017:

“Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.”

Since its founding in 1950, the New York City-based National Council of Churches (NCC) has remained faithful to the legacy of its predecessor, the Communist front-group known as the Federal Council of Churches, which the NCC absorbed in 1950. At one time an unabashed apostle of the Communist cause, the NCC has today recast itself as a leading representative of the so-called religious Left.

Adhering to what it has described as “liberation theology”—that is, Marxist ideology disguised as Christianity—the NCC lays claim to a membership of 36 Protestant, Anglican and Orthodox Christian denominations, and some 50 million members in over 140,000 congregations. ...”

Anarcho-syndicalism

A common Anarcho-Syndicalist flag.

In the early 20th century, anarcho-syndicalism arose as a distinct school of thought within anarchism.[78] With greater focus on the labour movement than previous forms of anarchism, syndicalism posits radical trade unions as a potential force for revolutionary social change, replacing capitalism and the state with a new society, democratically self-managed by the workers.

Anarcho-syndicalists seek to abolish the wage system and private ownership of the means of production, which they believe lead to class divisions. Important principles include workers' solidarity, direct action (such as general strikes and workplace recuperations), and workers' self-management. This is compatible with other branches of anarchism, and anarcho-syndicalists often subscribe to anarchist communist or collectivist anarchist economic systems.[79] Its advocates propose labour organization as a means to create the foundations of a non-hierarchical anarchist society within the current system and bring about social revolution.

The Revolutionary Communist Party launches its latest front group
Mission: Bring down the Trump/Pence administration (as if it actually were "fascist")

-- by ETL

The Revolutionary Communist Party, sometime around this past Feb (2017), launched a new front group called "Refuse Fascism".

The group's organizer/spokesperson, Sunsara Taylor, has been with the Revolutionary Communist Party for over a decade.

She's been on Fox News a number of times over the years, including with Hannity and Bill O'Reilly. Never once did either of them confront her with the fact of her belonging to the Revolutionary Communist Party, an organization which openly advocates the violent overthrow of the US government, or that the group she was on to represent was a front for the RCP. She of course would never come right out and say it, although she did at least once appear on Fox News wearing a Revolutionary Communist Party "Youth Brigade" t-shirt (like the one pictured below). Hannity's only response? "What's that you're wearing"?, as though neither he nor his dopey research staff had a clue. I haven't yet been able to find a screen cap of that appearance. The RCP Youth Brigade is a particularly slimy division of the RCP that targets young naive college and even high school kids, usually via some fake front group.

In any case, in February of this year (2017) she was on Fox News again, this time discussing a "Refuse Fascism" Trump-Pence protest in New York City. Prior to my watching the video I had stated that I would have bet my last dollar that Tucker wouldn't mention the RCP, as neither Hannity nor O'Reilly did when she appeared on their shows. Well, turned out I was right. Not a friggin word about it. I don't know what sort of idiots they hire there to do the research, but they absolutely suck at it.

Encouraged by Dix, RCP activists helped lead the riots that would leave 58 people dead, more than 2,300 people injured, some 5,300 buildings burned, and $1 billion in property damaged or destroyed. On the ten-year anniversary of the rioting, RCP member Joseph Veale fondly recalled the violence as 'the most beautiful, the most heroic civil action in the history of the United States.'"

You may recall the group "World Can't Wait--Drive Out the Bush Regime" during the GWB days (see above photos of Revolutionary Communist Party spokesperson Sunsara Taylor). I posted about them here on FR many times. Well, they (WCW) were created by the RCP as well. The full name of this latest group of theirs is actually "Refuse Fascism: Drive Out the Trump-Pence Regime".

The Revolutionary Communist Party openly calls for an armed revolution to overthrow the US government. They are also an organizer for the fake, so-called "Black Lives Matter" movement. See below.

Who Is Doing the Community Organizing for Black Lives Matter Spectacle?

by Dave Blount, June 5, 2015 [during Obama administration]

Not many Black Lives Matter morons would have the initiative to get a poster printed. But it's no mystery where they get the signs that they jab in the air as they chant "What do we want? Dead cops!" The supplier is printed right across the bottom: revcom.us .

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

'Rev' is for revolutionary.
'Com' is for communist
.

Revcom.us bills itself as "the voice of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA." The explicit objective is to overthrow our constitutional republic and replace it with an oligarchical collectivist dictatorship along the lines of North Korea and the Soviet Union.

Why would advocates of a communist police state agitate against the police? Because as leftists used to admit openly, the issue is never the issue. This isn't about the police, any more than it is about blacks. It is about destabilizing the system so as to create opportunities to weaken it and eventually overthrow it.

That's what community organizing boils down to. These people have taken over the executive branch of the federal government; why would they stop there?

The next hill they take will be federal control of local police. After that, things will start to get scary.

"Create Public Opinion, Seize Power: We are preparing minds and organizing forces for the time when there is a major crack in the system, whenever it comes and wherever it comes from: an opening that makes it possible to bring the future Revolutionary Army of the Proletariat (R.A.P.) into the field and wage a revolutionary armed struggle that actually has a chance of winning.

And we have said that building our party itself is the most important part of organizing forces for revolution. This is true now, and it is true looking forward to the creation of that future R.A.P. and the waging of that armed struggle.":

The 1992 LA/Rodney King riots were instigated by the Revolutionary Communist Party...

From David Horowitz's FrontpageMag.com /DiscoverTheNetworks.org:

"Throughout its history, one of RCP's [Revolutionary Communist Party] principal objectives has been to foment civil unrest in the United States. The most notable example of such efforts occurred on April 29, 1992, when RCP members looted and trashed the downtown and government districts of Los Angeles, triggering the infamous Rodney King riots. During the days immediately preceding the violence, RCP -- which maintained close ties to the L.A. gangs known as the Crips and the Bloods -- had circulated throughout South Central Los Angeles a leaflet featuring a statement by RCP National Spokesman Carl Dix, titled 'It's Right To Rebel' -- a quote popularized by Mao Zedong.

"The RCP upheld the 1992 sometimes-violent unrest in Los Angeles and nationally as a "rebellion" in the aftermath of the Rodney King verdicts.

Then-LAPD chief Daryl Gates alleged that the RCP was involved in the "riots".

William "Mobile" Shaw was a local leader who recently passed and received public commendation from the party."

“Art and China’s Revolution”
at the Asia Society Museum

An Unofficial Guide to the Exhibit [By the Revolutionary Communist Party: RCP]

by Li Onesto

Take the 68th Street subway exit on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and walk over to Park Avenue. Two blocks north, on the street divider in the middle of four lanes of heavy traffic, a 10-foot-high steel sculpture of a Mao jacket greets you. Then on the building to the right is a big banner with a drawing of Mao Tsetung surrounded by images of workers, soldiers and youth marching with red flags, Red Books and rifles. This is the outside introduction to a new exhibit at the Asia Society Museum titled: “Art and China’s Revolution.”

In the next couple of months, tens of thousands of drivers will zoom past the huge Mao jacket, prompting many to do a double take. It will jog some people’s memories back to the ’60s when millions of people around the world, including here in the United States, looked to socialist China as a truly liberating society. For some it might bring to mind Andy Warhol’s pop-art image of Mao, which you occasionally still see on t-shirts and greeting cards.

After being bombarded by decades of being told that “communism is dead,” most people who drive or walk by will probably consider these artistic references as icons of “the failure of socialism.” But for those who actually go through the revolving glass doors of the museum and see the exhibit, this can be an opportunity to examine and think more about what Mao and the Cultural Revolution and socialism are really all about—and to look at, and reconsider, the “accepted wisdom” on the effect this historic struggle had on art and artists; and in turn, the role art and artists played in this historic struggle. ..."

Redneck Revolt: armed leftists confront White Nationalists in Charlottesville

August 18, 2017 by Leave a Comment

The armed far right and far left agree on tactics of intolerance

 By Nate Thayer

August 18, 2017

“Let’s put the RED back in redneck,” is the slogan of Redneck Revolt, a rapidly expanding nationwide network of gun-toting leftists who confront White Nationalists at public demonstrations.

“The Left is getting armed again and I am honored to be a part of that,” said Mitchell Lewis of the Silver Valley chapter of Redneck Revolt in Davidson County, North Carolina who was in Charlottesville, Virginia carrying an AR-15 rifle against White Nationalist protestors.

At least five chapters of Redneck Revolt, heavily armed with AR-15 semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and other weapons, were at the “Unite the Right” demonstration last weekend in Charlottesville.

And to think - all these groups, together with the neo-Nazis and “Trump supporters”, were all bused into Charlottesville on the same buses, equipped with all their paraphernalia, and immediately perpetrated violence on the peaceful folks of Charlottesville.

Who would be able to organize something like that? And why?

George Soros should be rotting in Gitmo.

On other sites, I enjoy trolling - making myself to be an Antifa type and explaining that I’m fighting Fascism. When people ask me how I determine who a Fascist is, I say it’s easy, it’s anyone who supports Trump or voted for Trump.

The ironic thing is that is EXACTLY what these animals think and what they say in private to each other...but they know enough not to openly say it, so I say it for them.

Fighting fascists and re-electing Trump are NOT mutually exclusive.

Maybe they're Trump supporters incognito. You can't tell since they're masked. And that's right out of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals.

They *are* members of the communist/anarchist/anti-capitalist/fascist group Antifa, not just "making themselves out to be" that type. I know that is was you meant. It just didn't come out quite that way. :)

While I am 99% certain it was a staged/fake event with the intended purpose of giving the communist/revolutionaries another excuse to take to the streets, cause chaos, riot, and demand "revolution", I seriously doubt groups on both sides were shipped in on the same bus, chartered by the same individual or group. That would have made it too easy to expose the fraud. They are stupid, but not that stupid, at least not the ones running the show.

I'm pretty sure that many if not most of the people on the so-called "Far Right" side were actual members of real White Supremacist, KKK, and neo-Nazi, groups, although I'm sure there were at least some fake (Leftist) agitators in with them.

As for the organizer of the so-called "Unite The Right" rally, here's something I put together not long ago on him...

Who is Jason Kessler, organizer of the so-called "Unite The Right" rally?

by ETL

Here are some things I've complied regarding the organizer of that highly suspicious "Unite The Right" rally in Charolettesville several weeks ago, Jason Kessler. I suspect Kessler was/is a leftist plant. Put there for the sole purpose of launching a fullout communist revolution, disguised as a race war.

Because, just up until fairly recently, he was a solid supporter of today's hard left democrat party and of major left-wing positions. He was big time for Obama and then Secretary of State, John 'Fonda' Kerry. Strongly in favor of gun control, pro (anti-Capitalist) Occupy Wall Street. And here below, an obvious environmentalist-wacko, hoping for major catastrophes to help reduce the human population and "save the planet".

A Historical Perspective On Mass Violence

[by Jason Kessler]

Here's a different kind of question I've often had about large scale tragedies like natural disasters, diseases & gun violence:

We get so caught up in the emotion of the violence that we don't consider the long-term, historical consequences. To put it bluntly: the planet is overpopulated already. Maybe we shouldn't try to cure every disease, we shouldn't confiscate all the harmful drugs, etc.

Perhaps we'd be happier if we made peace with the fact that rabid animals are going to dwindle the herd from time to time (as they have in much greater volume throughout history) & that's not really a bad thing in the long run.

Should we try to stop as many large scale attacks as possible? Of course... but I don't think the zeitgeist should have an aneurysm every time one occurs either.

I think we be served to draw some historical perspective on how difficult the human condition has always been & how that is something of a blessing in disguise.

Take for instance how valuable the conquerors throughout history, as bloody & awful as they were during their reigns, have been to population control.

We think the planet is overpopulated now: the environment sick, the resources dwindling; where in the world [would] we be without Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great, Napoleon, Julius Caesar or for that matter the bubonic plague, cancer & AIDS?

Here's an article on the beneficial impact Genghis Khan's conquests had on the environment & sustainability, for example.

There are already 7.125 BILLION people on Planet Earth.

Try to extrapolate out how many people would be here now if EVERYONE had survived & had kids, which seems to be the ultimate aim of modern society... a right if you will... to defy the boundaries of nature.

It'd be one hell of a dystopian nightmare that's for sure.

Jason Kessler sentenced after assault conviction

Local blogger ordered to complete 50 hours of community service

Jason Kessler, a local Charlottesville area blogger, appeared in the Charlottesville General District Court Monday to be sentenced on a charge of misdemeanor assault.

The judge ordered Kessler to complete 50 hours of community service in the next six months. The blogger is also not allowed to contact the plaintiff, Jay Taylor.

The charge results from an incident that occurred on the Downtown Mall in January. Kessler was collecting signatures for a petition to have Charlottesville Vice Mayor Wes Bellamy removed from office in response to several tweets on Bellamy's Twitter account over a five year period between 2009 and 2014 that included gay slurs, profanity and lewd comments about women.

Crozet resident Jay Taylor claimed when he approached Kessler about the petition, Kessler responding by punching him in the face.

Taylor pursued assault charges, and in April, Kessler pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault. Kessler initially claimed Taylor had also assaulted him, but dropped the charge he had filed against Taylor when video surveillance disproved Kessler's version of events.

Kessler filed a petition in February to remove Bellamy from City Council, but was ultimately unsuccessful. A prosecutor found that the petition did not have enough signatures, prompting the court to dismiss it March 8.

Next, from the far left Southern Poverty Law Center...

“At one recent speech in favor of Charlottesville’s status as a sanctuary city, Kessler live-streamed himself as an attendee questioned him and apologized for an undisclosed spat during Kessler’s apparent involvement with Occupy. Kessler appeared visibly perturbed by the woman’s presence and reminders of their past association.”

“A “journalist, activist and author from Charlottesville, VA,” Kessler’s LinkedIn account states that he graduated of the University of Virginia in 2009. He was virtually unknown in the media prior to his crusade against Charlottesville Vice Mayor and City Councilman Wes Bellamy.”

How I Feel After Beyonce’s Racial Superbowl Performance

by Jason Kessler, 2/12/2016

I’m actually really okay with Beyonce’s racial advocacy at the Superbowl. I’m a big proponent of free speech across the board. I think it’s really important for white people not to whine about it like little bitches.

"On May 1st, May Day [1969], the day of the gigantic Free Huey rally, two of Alioto's top executioners vamped on the brothers from the Brown Community who were attending to their own affairs. These brothers, who are endowed with the revolutionary spirit of the Black Panther Party defended themselves from the racist pig gestapo [the police].

Pig Joseph Brodnik received his just reward with a big hole in the chest. Pig Paul McGoran got his in the mouth which was not quite enough to off him.

The revolutionary brothers escaped the huge swarm of pigs with dogs, mace, tanks and helicopters, proving once again that "the spirit of the people is greater than the man's technology."

To these brothers the revolutionary people of racist America want to say, by your revolutionary deed you are heroes, and that you are always welcome to our camp."

On December 9, 2015, he [Jason Kessler] wrote:

I can’t think of any occupation that I admire more than the professional provocateur, who has the courage & self-determination to court controversy despite all slings & arrows of the world

That’s right! This man is living his dream as a “professional provocateur.” Now he can claim victory as a mastermind behind the worst racial violence to spill blood on our streets in over twenty years.

The more we research the less we believe the false narrative that Jason Kessler was the victim of a hijacked movement. Indeed the facts lead us to a wholly different conclusion. The evidence says this man wanted to stand at the center of controversy. What better way to do it, than to call his rally “Unite The Right.”

He invited the KKK, Neo Nazis, and other White Supremacist groups. This, of course, courted a response from radical extremists from the other side. The New Black Panthers, Black Lives Matter, and Antifa were happy to meet his soldiers and all the sheep on the battlefield.

Sandwiched in the middle, people from the left the middle and the right who had no idea they were just sheep brought to a slaughter.

People from the left who want to see an end to racism [ACTUALLY, the organizing groups want an all-out communist revolution, this simply being their latest opening to do so -ETL], people from the right who want to see an end to the destruction of our past. Those from the middle seeking an end to both!

One beautiful soul rising to heaven as her broken body lay murdered in the street! One mentally unstable patsy who should have stayed home and taken his meds and gotten more sleep!

All brought together by a man who hails the almighty:
Provocateur

What’s the symbolism -— on the Antifa International flag -—of the three diagonal arrows pointing downward?

From what I gather, there is no general consensus as to what the 3 arrow represent. Antifa is basically a loose collection of various communist/anarchist/revolutionary organizations, and different member organizations apparently give different meanings to the arrows, none of which I’m sure are anything remotely positive or constructive.
