Rove, Romney and the GOP-e set out to destroy the tea party, and they are succeeding

Rove, Romney and the GOP-e loathe pro-life Reagan conservatism, loathe the small government tea party and set out to destroy them both. I hate to admit it, but they are succeeding.

As I see staunch pro-life conservatives and tea party patriots folding their small government tents in favor of Romney's GOP-e progressive, big government big tent, I can't help but see not only the end of the tea party, but the end of pro-life, pro-liberty conservatism within the Republican party. And if we cannot quickly recover, the end of liberty in America. America's great experiment in self-government by believers in life and liberty destroyed, not by the liberal progressive statists of the Democrat party, but by the liberal progressive statists of the Republican party. Where the statist Democrats have failed, the statist GOP-e will have succeeded.

There is absolutely no doubt that Romney's pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, pro-socialist healthcare, statist big government record is identical to Obama's. Once upon a time in the not so distant past, conservatives automatically shunned big government statists. The GOP-e and the malignant genius, Karl Rove, figured out how to outflank us and turn the GOP totally against Reagan conservatism and against pro-Life, pro-family, pro-small government conservatives. It's an engineered coup d'etat against traditional small government conservatism and it is deadly.

THESE are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated. Britain, with an army to enforce her tyranny, has declared that she has a right (not only to TAX) but "to BIND us in ALL CASES WHATSOEVER" and if being bound in that manner, is not slavery, then is there not such a thing as slavery upon earth. Even the expression is impious; for so unlimited a power can belong only to God.

The fear of Obama has turned many among us into squishes who will set the pro-life conservative movement back forty years or more by surrendering to the abortionist/homosexualist, statist progressive, big government, corrupt crony capitalist agenda within the GOP.

We should not fear Obama to the point we elect an overstepping statist just like him, we should be determined to impeach his usurping treasonous ass! We should shun the Gop-e, shun Karl Rove, shun Romney, shun all of the big government, big tent, RINOS who have taken over the GOP. Rather than surrendering to the big government forces, we should be working full-time to elect pro-life, pro-small government conservatives into the majority of elective offices throughout this great land. If ever there was a time for pro-life conservatives and tea party patriots to stand their ground, it is NOW!! SURRENDER TO STATISM? NUTS!!

With conservative majorities in the legislative branches of the federal government and in the majority of all state and local governments, we can impeach and remove or expel the traitors amongst us from their executive posts, their high benches or their legislative seats and reclaim our Liberty!!

I am shocked by the number of supposedly pro-life conservatives who would promote these abortionist/homosexualist statists and dismayed that so many tea party patriots would fold their tents. Romney is the natural biological father of the big government unconstitutional statist RomneyCare/ObamaCare program that was the spark that ignited the tea party. And now the tea party sadly seems to be on the brink of surrendering to him before the fight has even begun.

Not me. I stand firm for Life and Liberty!! No Obama!! No Romney!! NOT ON MY WATCH!!

Well, you are assuming GW Bush was not a conservative. In most aspects I beleive he was.
Limbaugh has always said you support the most conservative person running in the race.
GW Bush certainly was.
McCain maybe was, I guess you do not remember Limbaugh trashing McCain nearly daily.
Romney is not but is what is left, which is what Limbaugh has said, ‘we are stuck with him’.
He does suffer with ABO like so many others.
I think he tries everyday not to bash Romney, and sometimes he can’t hold back.
(His backing of Buchanan was just to tweak the media, it meant as much as when he endorsed Clinton).

The social issues take care of themselves when the tax rate is 9% of GDP (with a fully funded Military).

You have it backwards. Tax policy takes care of it’s self when you elect moral up-standing citizens. If you think this mess gets cleaned up by low character free traders we are doomed. People like that are spineless whimps like Boehner.

I cannot disagree, even if I’m not certain if the clowns you list have set out to do what you accuse them of doing, or as Ralph Kramden might have said, were just born that way. Why, even ole Peggy Noonan, with whom we seldom agree nowadays, notes in today’s WSJ how lifeless this year’s POTUSential campaign is. Obumster is giving away targets every day and does his twin ever attempt to hit them?

Obama is the worst incumbent president in history, surpassing even Jimmy Carter in that regard.

And Romney is by far the worst prospective Republican nominee ever.

Two losers who both deserve to lose.

The American people deserve, and need, much better.

I agree with you Jim. I have resisted commenting on what I see as the end of American freedom. I truly fear that there are not enough of us left in this country that will stand on the principals of the founding fathers. It’s been truly dismaying to watch even those on this site buckle under the pressure and intimidation. I watch as members of organized religions accept abortion, homosexuals, and all manner of behavior contrary to teaching is scripture. With over 50% of the population on government assistance of some sort it’s obvious that it’s not only Dems who have turned from makers to takers. Add to that the bleeding hearts who facilitate the taking from those who produce and giving to those who take it’s not difficult to see that this country has fallen deeply into a socialistic mindset.

Those who have fallen for the meme that the best we can do is Romney are not going to be the ones who bring this country back to what the founders envisioned. If even the churches are falling from biblical principles I’m not sure where we look for strong principle people who will stand with us.

I put in 40+ hours a week on Tea Party issues, lots of people still active.. We can’t win them all first time around, just got to keep chipping away.

At this present time we have a broken political system and a broken electorate and a country fighting for its moral soul.

The GOP primary system was hi-jacked by the moderates, democrats in blue states and the elite Rinos in the GOP who wanted their establishment candidate Mitt Romney to win at all cost the primary.

Rick Satorum won a whole lot of Conservative/Republican states but it never was enough to beat Romney because the system was set up for the Liberal states to be winner take all and to be with more delegates.

The GOP-E manipulated the system to get their guy in. Even attacking their own when they saw that Romney was the wrong guy and too weak to take on Obama.

GOP-E wanted this mess. They are the ones responsible for the situation of having a bad candidate with plenty of baggage and to weak to defend himself. They brainwashed people who will be hurt by him should he win and will likely turn on Romney like people did with George W.Bush.

So if we had guts, we’d run a tea party candidate. But the tea party is too confused now to know what to do.

So there are different groups of people out there who cannot seem to see eye to eye with each other within the GOP.

1. Moderates and establishment types who attacked all conservative candidates and the tea party. They went for Romney from day one.

2. Libertarians who have their own agenda and they ran Ron Paul to destroy the GOP and helped Romney out by attacking the conservative candidates for him.

3. Misguided Conservatives who will vote Romney instead of actively protesting him and demanding a better candidate. Who just did not get what was going on the last several years in the GOP and why Bush was no good.

Now I get that some are now voting Romney because they are afraid of Obama. I’m referencing those who are all about voting the so-called nominee because the GOP media wants it that way and say junk like those who don’t vote for him are electing Obama or some nonsense. Not those since the health care ruling who are upset and feel like they have to defeat Obama. I understand. But that is why I am unhappy with Romney as the nominee because he is no opposition to Obama.

We need a Joe Walsh, Allen West, Sarah Palin, and Scott Walker type candidate and not Mitt Romney.

People like me feel differently than the misguided conservatives.

5. We are people who want a new candidate and not Romney. Worried about him as the nominee and what it could do to the conservative movement. We also can’t come to defend the guy because we couldn’t defend him in the primary and instead attacked him. Actually he is not our guy because he is not conservative at all. Also we don’t care what others think because we’ve had it with the GOP-Elite. They are the road block to defeating liberals and Obama.

We feel like Ann Barnhart who told Romney to go home and then saw people walk out of some speech she made for daring to mention the GOP elite. Some so-called conservatives just do not get it. But nobody has the balls to run a tea party or conservative candidate. The GOP has neutered us.

And so that is the situation at hand. Therefore I’m voting for Virgil Goode and if he does not make the ballot in my state, I’ll either write him in or write in Palin.

I wish I knew why Sarah Palin really did not run. And why Michele Bachmann did not do a good job. What I do recall is conservatives were deeply divided about whom to back and it
did not help matters.

I can’t stand Obama. I can’t stand Romney. I want both of them defeated. So as someone said...We lost when Romney won.

I personally wanted Bachmann to win the primary then I backed Cain and Santorum. I hope we can find someone else like Allen West or Sarah Palin to run.
