In recent years, concerns on national security have become an excuse some Western countries used to block Huawei's business expansion.

The latest episode is some media reports on July 19, saying the US and the UK blamed Huawei for security issues again.

In a statement for The Verge, a Manhattan-based technology news website, William Plummer, the vice president responsible for Huawei's external affairs demanded both countries "shut up" if they were unable to put up evidence.

Despite of barriers, Huawei has left remarkable footprints on the way of its international development.

In 2010, Huawei's nearly $21.8 billion in revenues made it the 397th largest company in the Fortune Global 500 list. In 2013, Huawei ranked 315th in the Fortune 500 with revenue of $34.9 billion. It surpassed Ericsson, which ranked 333th with $33.6 billion in revenue, for the first time.

In the global telecommunication equipment market, Ericsson and Huawei, as each other's major rival, contest against each other intensely. Nevertheless, with "cold winter" of telecommunication equipment market at present, the two firms present different trends.

According to the financial reports last year, incomes of the two firms remain the same, but net profit of Huawei was three times than that of Ericsson. At global analyst conference 2013, Huawei revealed that it would achieve annual revenues of $38.9 billion with compound annual growth rate of 10 percent in next five years. It is expected that Huawei would surpass Ericsson to become the world's biggest equipment maker in 2013.

I just finished working on a part for Huawei. Every day, I felt like telling them to shut up. Greedy b*sturds. Ignorant of technology also. They rely on American companies to provide them the telecom engineering expertise.

But, all their good news the reporting is questionable from data I’ve seen.

No kidding.

Chinese firm Huawei controls net filter used by UK

The pornography filtering system praised by David Cameron is controlled by the controversial Chinese company Huawei, the BBC has learned.

UK-based employees at the firm are able to decide which sites TalkTalk's net filtering service blocks.

Politicians in both the UK and US have raised concerns about alleged close ties between Huawei and the Chinese government.

The company says the worries are without foundation and prejudiced.

....Homesafe is a voluntary scheme which allows subscribers to select categories - including social media, gambling and pornography - that they want blocked.

Customers who do not want filtering still have their traffic routed through the system, but matches to Huawei's database are dismissed rather than acted upon.

Same company that back in December was linked to trying to sell embargoed computer equipment to Iran, among many other things over the years.

Unfortunately, they were welcomed to my state with open arms by our Governor, and they appear to be worming their way into everything they can.
