Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson said no Muslim should be president of the United States, adding a new twist to a controversy roiling the partys White House nominating race.
In an interview with NBCs Meet the Press, Carson, a retired brain surgeon who often refers to his own deep Christian faith, was asked whether a presidents religion should matter.
I guess it depends on what that faith is. If its inconsistent with the values and principles of America, then of course it should matter. But if it fits within the realm of America and consistent with the constitution, no problem, he said.
Asked whether he believes Islam is consistent with the US constitution, he responded: No, I dont. I do not.
I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation. I absolutely would not agree with that, he added.

I understand that the GOP-E have a cross and nails all ready for him.
LOLARMAOOTF
And the more they hammer those nails, the stronger Carson will become.
(Provided he doesn’t knuckle under.)
He’s not high on my list either, but occasionally he shows good instinct. (He just needs a crash course in the Constitution.)
Cruz: Excluding Muslims from presidency is unconstitutional
Shift the question to trusting US voters.
How does Gannett spin Cruz’s “religious test” quote into his saying anything about Muslims in particular?
Abso-freaking-lutely. Carson knew exactly what he was doing. Bravo. Shiria law and the US Constitution mix about as well as oil and water.
Great, but that’s not what Carson said exactly.
Too late Doc.
Yep...we can’t have ANOTHER muslim for president.
There was a very lengthy and heated debate during the forming of the government over Catholics and public office holders. To which authority does the public official ultimately serve?
So let’s go over old ground again and dig into the history books to determine how this one ended up.
Does anyone really disagree with Carson? Not I, he nailed it squarely.
Pay particular attention to how people frame this issue. Do you believe:
1. Any Muslim can be president?
2. A natural born citizen Muslim can be president?
3. A natural born citizen Muslim can run for the presidency?
The funny thing is that a good Catholic should ultimately serve Christ the King.
How many non-Catholics, much less non-Christians, would feel comfortable with that?
I’m liking this guy more and more everyday. If Trump or Cruz fail, he’d be a good back up. Excellent VP or some high cabinet job.

I agree
Excellent, Dr. Carson!
Libtards need to be educated about sharia law.
