YEONGCHANG, South KoreaTeam USA brought the largest-ever squad to a Winter Olympics: 242 athletes decked out in stars and stripes and suede-fringe gloves, strutting into the Opening Ceremony.
So far that big, bold team is doing a faceplant.

I think the athletes were hungrier back then - now all the big names have lucrative endorsements even before their first Olympic Games and very high opinions of themselves regardless of whether they get on the podium. Meh.

If they were to just make a list of events and announce that all 7 billion people on the planet all get participation cyber trophies then we can be done with the Olympics and put that flame out as the new Dark Ages comes upon us as the end of the second era of Olympics comes to an end.
My point is that political correctness is bad for the Olympics and everything.
Our family has really enjoyed watching the Olympics. Shawn White's gold metal win was very exciting.
All the figure skating got tiresome after a while though.
