Hungary’s foreign minister has warned the European Union (EU) to stop “bashing” President Donald J. Trump’s administration, saying it will only backfire on European countries.

“I always urge our friends in the European Union not to play this new sport art which is created which is called bashing [the] United States, you know, because the more our European friends bash the U.S., the more negative impact they will cause with that,” Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Péter Szijjártó told CNBC in at the annual forum of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris on Thursday.

Oh but the Euro-Morons simply can’t help themselves.

Just like the Leftists in our country, it’s in their DNA.

The US ought to ditch NATO and sign a new defense treaty with Central Europe. Western Europe needs discipline and a reality check.

Nice to see someone in Europe with a brain.

I wouldn’t ditch NATO....I’d just go and remove 95-percent of the forces from Europe. Ask them to support a deployment type exercise once a year, and deliver 50,000 US troops for that exercise.

Wouldn't it be a hoot if DJT were to tweet that he wanted to negotiate huge trade deals with Hungary,Poland and other Eastern European members of the EU.Top EU officials in Brussels would pour out of their smoked salmon luncheons to express their outrage!

I believe the days of kicking the USA in the nuts are gone. Trump doesn’t like to bow down to weaker powers.

Trump should do a grand tour of eastern Europe, the only countries on the continent trying to save themselves.

Just move our troops out of Germany lock, stock and barrel. Move them to Poland, Hungary and the Baltic states.

I would love it if the USA were to beef up the embassies and multiply the consulates in countries like Hungary,Poland et al while reducing the embassies in the wannabe EUSSR countries to small staffs and ambassadors chosen from among our high school teachers.

We used to call that REFORGER.

The London Telegraph today is joining in on the “Don’t Bash Trump, Mrs. May” agenda as well. Brits are getting nervous as well they should.

How about moving them to Texas, Oklahoma, and the Gulf states?

We do NOT want to induce Germany to feel it can or must build a strong military. There is a good reason America has taken on the role of European defender and allowed those countries, specifically Germany, a free defense ride.

Agree. Many people don’t realize that our presence in Europe (i.e., Germany) was two fold:
1) The first, obvious, one being to stop Soviet expansionism.
2) The second, not so obvious, was to prevent Germans from becoming...well, Germans, again.

In fact, due to #2, they’ve been forced to use other means to subjugate Europe (i.e., economic). Not only is this much slower than sending tanks into France, it also isn’t as assured, particularly when considering Brexit and now Italy.

My grandfather on my dad’s side came from eastern Hungary, after ww1 he saw the writing on the wall and came to Canada. He was a very smart man, even though I could barely understand a thing he said. He died in 2000 at 95. I was doing an infantry exercise at the time. A short time after during leave while on overseas deployment, I went to Hungary. When they saw my name and middle name on my passport when I was trying to get a ticket to Ukraine, not only did they suddenly have room on the plane, they had first class for me. I didn’t even pay. The ladies were extremely excited. It was like a lost son came home.

Orban seems to me to care deeply about his country, it’s refreshing to see. Meanwhile in Alberta I feel oppressed.

It is easy to get out from under economic domination, traumatic, devastating perhaps, but easy- bankruptcy. It is not so easy to get out from under a tank.
