Thursday on CNNs Situation Room, Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) said it would be grounds for impeachment if President Donald Trump pardoned his former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort if he was found guilty in the case currently being deliberated by a jury in Virginia.
Lieu said, I believe pardoning Paul Manafort would be grounds for impeachment. Whether Republicans would act on that, I dont think they would, which is why this November the voters across America have a chance to change the makeup of Congress and put in a real check and balance by putting in Democrats to control.

Trump should give Manafort the same sentence as Gates got. Equal justice....
To them, just the fact that we have a real man who is a real patriot and who isn’t afraid of them is “grounds for impeachment”....
I HOPE you mean good ways.
Yes, I didn’t want to write my whole “theory of Trumpismo”, but all good ways.
What I think the Democrats are hoping for is that Manafort is convicted, Trump pardons him, and Mueller has enough on both to make an obstruction of justice charge. And that would be their excuse to impeach.
Wrong.
That's what Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are hoping for.
Come on Jim. That’s not a president’s job. You could have had that, or had real accomplishments. There’s not even enough time in Trump’s day to vet 435 candidates.
Second, and I’m serious, there aren’t 435 people who was remotely close to Trump who have a chance of winning anything. Look at how Moore flamed out in AL-—he was far closer to Trump than Brooks or Strange (whom Trump DID endorse). Since then, Trump has carefully endorsed winners, as opposed to just “Trumpers,” because the downside of endorsing losers is politically worse than having winners who don’t completely support you.
When you go through all that’s needed to run for a US House seat-—all the groups you need to appeal to, the incredible money it takes (incredible for an average person), the demands on your life . . . well, it’s stunning. I had a friend who ram for Tony Hall’s seat in Dayton, OH (that eventually Mike Turner got), and my friend got beaten badly. He was very smart, a doctor who was singing the criticisms of the health care system in the late 1990s early 2000s, and he was just blown out.
Then, on top of that, you have to admit that the neverTrumper Club for Growth type organizations will come in with guns blazing against MAGA candidates.
This is Senate, not House, but in AZ, Ms McTurd Martha McSally has taken out a $1m (ONE MILLION) ad buy against Kelli Ward . . . in the primary!!!
Yes, lots of counties in OH, PA, IA, MI, WI voted for Trump and voted for Zero twice. Read Salena Zito’s “The Great Revolt.” I don’t know about your NH district, but if people “hate” Republicans so much, how do you explain that since November 2016, Rs have NET added over 8,000 to their rolls over DemoKKKrats?
spilt coffee grounds for impeachment
Thanks for the reply.
I don't have your expertise or your fluency, or I would have written a longer post.
Of course I didn't mean Trump should find and pick candidates.
But, entering into politics at the very highest level, he needed a political team of the very highest caliber (if he wanted to stick around), and he didn't/doesn't have that.
I don't know, but I stand by my prediction that any Democrat will beat Andy Sanborn or Eddie Edwards in NH-1 despite Trump's victory un the district, and I hope this district is not typical.
Which only proves that House races are highly local.
But Trump is a lock in NH in 2020.
No pres has ever done this. Rove tried & flamed out.
That’s the job of the PARTY not the WH.
Yes, we are not allowing residents of other states to vote anymore.
