After boarding up the house of friend and our own this morning, we beat feet to Tallahassee this afternoon. Several knucklehead friends are staying to ride out the storm. I hope they get lucky.
I ain’t no “meaty urologist”,
but it looks like it is moving west to me.
That is one ugly beast!
Yep, the beaches are among the prettiest anywhere.
Our home is on St Joe Bay, so perhaps we’ll avoid a destructive over-wash of the peninsula.
Buckle down, and have plenty of beer and Vienna sausages on-hand. :-)
You're a sick man , Spinner, it's one of the things I love about you :-)
R U stuck in Tally?
hardly any info trickling out of the cape.
S.R. 30A bridge entering Simmons Bayou and leading to Cape San Blas has a chunk missing.
Only info I can find is from here:

Thanks to all. We’re still in TLH. The elect power just came on an hour ago. Hope to stay w/friends nearby in a day or two. The Cape north of Stump Hole (where we live) is an island.
Wind Insurance company notified. From grainy aerial photos of our home the roof is intact and the structure doesn’t appear to have shifted, which hopefully means repairable damage. I do not believe we suffered flood damage at all. Fingers crossed.
We are not aware of any fatalities among some of our idiot friends who decided to ride out the storm.
None other than EMS are allowed into Gulf/Franklin counties. My take is that the FEDS, state, counties are doing fine work. I hope they let loose the SeaBees or Army Combat Engineers.
You did the smart thing.
Might be awhile before you can get back in.
Stay safe.
Good that you and yours are okay.
Outstanding news in the midst of so much disaster. Many thanks for your local report. Please continue to keep us updated as events allow.
