..... Ya .... You derps .... It’s called geo-thermal activity under the oceans .... The ring of fire is becoming increasingly active.

The implications of this finding include the fact that they don’t know what they are doing.

The earth isn't warming as they predicted so they had to come up with an explanation; the ocean is absorbing the heat.

A few years ago they said the heat was sinking to the bottom of the oceans. They never explained how heat sinks.

If the oceans are heating the thermal expansion would be seen with increasing sea level. Do we see that happening?

Now the oceans are absorbing the heat that's supposed to be heating up the planet.

I wonder what the mechanism for this is. How did this suddenly happen?

Time for another theory to explain the previous theory.

And on and on.

The oceans don’t suck up heat and keep it. The currents go north and south and release it. This stuff is for the incredibly credulous.

How does less than one tenth of one percent of the earth’s heat capacity (atmosphere) influence the other 99.9% (oceans)?

If the oceans are warm, then they boil out more CO2, hence their CO2 models are wrong. These people just do bean counting, and their models have nothing to do with climate dynamics.

It is like people saying raising taxes to pay off the deficit. It is not that simple

Total garbage. Water does not absorb radiant energy efficiently at all. This is junk science at its worst. Here is a thought experiment that some of you can actually verify: Go to Phoenix AZ in midsummer after a couple weeks of 110 degree plus days. Go jump in your friend’s swimming pool. Do you expect a warm bath? Sorry.

I happen to be a scientist. A real one.

And, I find this article completely offensive.

The assumptions, alleged observations, and duplicitous and fear mongering and hyperbolic conclusion are beyond ridiculous.

Lies, compounded.

When the BBC can explain what causes ice ages, and brief warming periods between ice ages, the Marauder minimum period, the middle age maximum warming and the little ice age anything they print is crap!

This was all before man had any significant impact on CO2 levels.

The real answer is orbital mechanics of the earth about the sun whose output is not a static quantity and the electromagnetic field of the earth which does effect total energy input received from the sun and cosmic rays that are integral to cloud cover of the earth. More cosmic rays means more clouds and thus much more reflective energy from the sun back into space and thus cooling. When the magnetic field is weak we have more cosmic rays enter our atmosphere and thus more cloud cover and thus cooling.

In reality they really do not know.

CO2 is plant food and when high life flourishes on earth and when low, life does not flourish. In Geologic terms we are actually in a CO2 drought, actually not far from extinction levels. It should also be noted that crops today are much more abundant due to our increased CO2 levels. CO2 is good!

Will the glacial caps of Greenland and the Antarctic melt? If geologic history is any indicator they will and it has not one damn thing to do with man. On the other hand we may be in a warming period of a glacial period and could full well go back to full ice age conditions. This has happened in the Geologic past.

If we really do go to full warming man will slowly retreat from the coast over thousands of years and there will be no disruption of civilization. It should be noted that the possible end of this ice age resulted in very rapid rises in sea levels for the past 12000 years. This rise has slowed greatly. It is very small compared to the last 12000 years. In the past when this rise slowed it was the beginning of a new ice age.

The normal condition of earth is Ice Age. These brief warming periods are an anomaly. Enjoy the warmth. It does not last long.

REAL scientists knew this over 30 years ago ... I still remember a REAL scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research telling me this exact thing over 30 years ago ... the fake ones just chose to leave this out of their fake “models” ...

The heat capacity of water is well known and studied under thermodynamics. If the oceans are absorbing more heat it would mean one of two things. 1. There is another source of heat that we are not factoring in, or 2. The fundamental molecular structure of water has changed to allow it to take on more heat.

There is also a 3rd option and that is the scientists do not know what they are talking about and their math is way off and their data is incomplete.

Last week it was the quiet sun. This week the oceans are soaking up all the sun’s heat. Next week it will be cow farts...

One sure fire way to prevent glowbull worming, is to send all the people worried about it on a rocket to the sun to turn down the thermostat.

Surely one of them will succeed! It's for the future of humanity! Volunteer today!

>>Researchers say that the world has seriously underestimated the amount of heat soaked up by our oceans over the past 25 years. Their study suggests that the seas have absorbed 60% more than previously thought.

so is this an admission that all of their mathematical models have been wrong?
