Kyrsten Sinema Defeats Martha McSally In Arizona Senate Race
Daily Caller ^ | November 12, 2018 | Jason Hopkins

Democratic congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema has emerged victorious in Arizona’s hotly contested Senate battle, helping her party make gains in the upper chamber of Congress.

Following a hotly contested race where both candidates lead in differing polls, Sinema — Arizona’s 9th Congressional District representative — has defeated Republican congresswoman Martha McSally after nearly a week since Election Day.

The back-and-forth election saw both candidates take the lead at different times before the November elections. McSally trailed Sinema for much of the beginning of the campaign, but saw her numbers rise after Sinema — a former activist against the Iraq and Afghanistan war — dealt with numerous embarrassing headlines emanating from her past.

McSally originally led in the vote count. However, Sinema was able to rack up mail-in votes following Election, eventually surpassing her Republican opponent.

Before becoming a U.S. representative, Sinema was involved in numerous protests against the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, with some of her past actions resurfacing. In 2003, a group she co-founded distributed flyers that depicted U.S. soldiers as skeletons. During a radio interview in 2003, Sinema is on record saying she didn’t care if Americans took up arms to join the Taliban. McSally, on the other-hand, was fiercely attacked for her vote in the House to repeal Obamacare, a law she has long criticized.

“Well, Sean, I did vote to repeal and replace Obamacare on that House bill — I’m getting my ass kicked for it right now because it’s being misconstrued by the Democrats,” McSally said in an interview with Sean Hannity in late October. The Human Rights Campaign 2018 Los Angeles Gala Dinner - Show

The Real Clear Politics average of polls gave McSally a one-point lead in the run up to Election Day. While all within the margin-of-error, three of the latest surveys included the RCP average showed McSally ahead.

The Associated Press called the election on Monday night.

McSally took to Twitter to concede and thanked her supporters.

I’m absolutely stunned that Arizona could elect a far left wacko like Sinema.

Sickening.

And you don't consider AZ a purple state? I would argue it turned purple back in the Bush days. Too large a university population and too many illegals and Mexifornia emigrates.

Whoopie, she’ll lose again since she ignores fraud.

Is Mike Murpghy or Karl Rove her campaign manager?

Watch for Greg Stanton to run then. He just won Sinema’s House seat and will certainly try in 2020. He will win because he is a Democrat and the MariCopa County Recorder is a hard core Leftist who will throw in as many fraudulent votes as Stanton needs.

“Republican Governor won by 325,000 but McSally lost by 32,000? Something fishy here.”

An excellent point.

Something doesn’t add up.

“Republican Governor won by 325,000 but McSally lost by 32,000?”

I’ve seen nothing to provide a real logical explanation.
LS, what do you have?

Ducey is a popular and effective governor who ran lots of television ads. His Dem opponent Garcia ran comparatively few.

Sinema ran frequent ads on healthcare (without explaining what she will do to make it better). McSally ran fewer ads and not much on healthcare. This issue is big in AZ among independents which Sinema won a majority.

Also did not help that Ward and Arpaio did not endorse McSally, very disappointed in both of them.

What is really discouraging is that after two years of the Democrats holding their hands over their hearts saying: “In addition to the violation of the spirit of the United States, what really bothers us is HOW THIS LOOKS TO OTHER NATIONS”...

This vote incompetence really DOES make it look bad, not just for the US but for Democracy itself. How hard is it picture some tin-hatted dictator saying: “Look, taking the peoples votes isn’t easy. The US, for example, can’t seem to do it and when the result comes in, it always favors one side.”

McSally was the establishment pick of McCain and McTurtle, but when she needed establishment support and needed McConnell to speak out for her and get behind him, he crawled under a rock like he didn’t give a damn that she was getting steamrolled by the democrat hucksters in Arizona. Then instead of raising hell today she herself rolled over. It all stinks to high heaven.
