BREAKING NEWS: Trump in public Oval Office shouting match with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer as he threatens to shut down the government to get his wall built - and they call him a 'Pinocchio' and tell him: 'Elections have consequences'

Congress and the president must agree on a federal funding proposal by Dec. 21

Trump wants $5 billion to fund his border wall and had Washington worried he would engineer a partial shut down of the government if he doesn't get it

Democrats are offering him $1.6 billion that can be used on fencing not concrete

He indicated Tuesday that he had a new strategy: have the military build the wall

Democratic senators warned just yesterday that the military does not have the authority to use defense funds to build border barriers on a bombing range in AZ

Trump fired off tweets that cast immigrants as disease-carrying lawbreakers hours before Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer were due at the White House

Democratic leaders will meet Trump at 11:30 am to hash out a spending deal

Donald Trump's negotiating session with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer spiraled wildly out of control on Tuesday, with the politicians viciously tearing into the president in plain view of reporters.

Pelosi informed him that his border wall wouldn't pass in the House of Representatives, where Republicans hold a majority of seats, if it came for a vote.

I don’t underestimate Pence when it comes to fighting. He reminds me of a family member that has a hook when it matters most and you never see it coming. ...

There can only be posturing, no true deals, with mikes and cameras on. The real deal making, if any, will take place behind closed doors with electronics off.

Thanks for the link. I wouldn’t characterize that as a shouting match. I was prepared for screaming or something. I feel for our President having to deal with these slimy open borders Democrats. I could probably count on one hand the number of Republicans who might have the courage and the strength to argue with these guys.

I’ve never trusted pence completely since he spent 12 years in Congress with RINOs like Ryan.

As Gov, he quickly folded on a cultural issue - homosexual marriage, IIRC.

Of course.....still I like the way this went. Pelosi spilling political speak because that’s what she does how be it often tripping over herself. And Schumers disdain of Trump always spilling over and apparent.

I have no problem with angry voices when it comes to our politicians...STAND for what you believe in when it’s necessary to do so, and in this political climate it’s necessary...even with shouting.

To Dems, it matters not that the Constitution gave equal say to all states, regardless of population, by specifying two Senators from each state. We lost that with the passage of the 17th Amendment ... which lets little Chuckie proceed as if Senators from small states are less significant. The makeup of the Senate and the Electoral College were the founder's mechanisms for preventing a tyranny of the majority.

We only have the EC now to protect the US from tyranny of a few high population counties. Thank goodness for DJT inviting the cameras in to witness meetings such as these. We need to constantly shine the light on these vermin ... they can't stand true transparency. We know that the true deals will be made behind closed doors, but we can get a very good idea of the process from these public exchanges.

Well he’s the “peacemaker” so I don’t expect much more than that...but he’s good for Trump.

The Republicans in congress should have...

Our elected Republican congress critters are worse than useless. Those traitors should be dragged out of office.

.......”We need to constantly shine the light on these vermin ... they can't stand true transparency.”......

That's a good part of what this administration is about. You can't go after these creatures without showing the public how they really are...and who they are. Our guys can know but if the people don't “see’ and ‘hear’ for themselves then It c0mes to nothing, Further the Dems will remain opposed to anything on Trumps agenda.....today he showed this.

If money’s an issue, Trump should just crowd fund the damn thing.

Seriously!

This could be the best post on FR in 2018!

I’m in.

On both sides, the posturing serves a purpose, and helps set parameters for the real negotiating, if any.

I don’t know why someone can’t bring that up as a coast-ist. He sounds like a racist belittling minorities, which would not stand. It should not stand when you belittle flyover states either.

When your only rebuttal is ...let’s go where no one can hear us... then you’ve lost the debate.

After wards Pelosi said.... a government shutdown is a ....”luxury”.... Americans cannot afford.

Yes...while she's also saying they should not be debating in front of the press......she speaketh out of both sides of her mouth..as usual.

Obviously the irony of the fact that this nut said we had to pass Obamacare to find out what was in it is lost on her.
